Marc Savlov Austin Chronicle It's as if someone had thrown a whole lot of money at Ed Wood and let him go wild, minus the angora. Rated: 1/5 Nov 17, 2011 Full Review Nick Schager Slant Magazine Only Uwe Boll would assume that the moviegoing public craved a trashy Lord of the Rings rip-off starring Burt Reynolds and Matthew Lillard, and only he could then manage to make such a potentially riotous endeavor so humorless. Rayless M hilarious misunderstood masterpiece Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/01/24 Full Review nick s It must be frustrating for the folk who did sets and costumes to watch the finished product. Stilted acting and corny dialogue make this a tough watch. Clichés and bad editing abound. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 11/30/24 Full Review Steve B If you do not have expectations, it is a passable movie. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 04/06/23 Full Review James This movie is atrocious. Uwe Boll lives up to his infamous reputation of being a worse movie director than the average movie goer. At first the writing seems bad, but if you look carefully, the writing is undermined by bad directing and bad editing. It is impossible to describe this without seeing it unfold on screen. Long story short, this movie is absolutely AMAZING when the fight scene director takes over, and even worth the watch just for the fight choreography.
