Marc Savlov Austin Chronicle It's as if someone had thrown a whole lot of money at Ed Wood and let him go wild, minus the angora. Apr 16, 2019 Full Review Hank Sartin Time Out Don't go for the campy laughs; there are none. Rated: 1/5 Nov 17, 2011 Full Review Nick Schager Slant Magazine Only Uwe Boll would assume that the moviegoing public craved a trashy Lord of the Rings rip-off starring Burt Reynolds and Matthew Lillard, and only he could then manage to make such a potentially riotous endeavor so humorless. Steve B If you do not have expectations, it is a passable movie. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 04/06/23 Full Review James This movie is atrocious. Uwe Boll lives up to his infamous reputation of being a worse movie director than the average movie goer. At first the writing seems bad, but if you look carefully, the writing is undermined by bad directing and bad editing. It is impossible to describe this without seeing it unfold on screen. Long story short, this movie is absolutely AMAZING when the fight scene director takes over, and even worth the watch just for the fight choreography. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/29/23 Full Review Michael L this was more a comedy on just how cliche all the lines and actors were. if anything, this movie proves a good story line and directing , editing , etc is more important than the actors by a zillion. so many so called "big named actors" and this movie still was horrendous. so much so i had to stop watching only a little bit into it.. and then you see these award shows lol.. like why do actors get awards? everyone should watch this to prove its not actors but content that makes a movie great. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 09/18/22 Full Review Parker D Wow what a heaping pile of manure that rips of the lord of the rings trilogy but without the charm, grace, vision, heart, soul, artistry, and courage that made the Peter Jackson films a masterclass in moviemaking and a milestone in cinema arts and please I don't want to hear those who would obviously say this isn't a great movie or a masterpiece or a fantasy film that isn't as good as LOTR or meant to be aware worthy but enjoyable and entertaining or it's an entertainment veichle or it's a popcorn movie, or it's a popcorn movie deluxe or even a film that's soo bad it's enjoyable it's a fantasy film that's soo bad it is a crime against the form of art that is the film industry and cinema anyone who says all that stuff of it being not a great movie or masterpiece like lord of the rings but just that it's an entertainment veichle, made for entertainment movie, or a popcorn deluxe is grossly underestimated how much of a talentless, worthless, incompetent and unskilled director uwe boll is honestly if he was next to me I would tell him him your lord of the rings rip off is terrible , it's unwatchable, it's awful it's horrible it's the worst and one of the worst movies in the world and even perhaps the worst movie of all time you German hack it's not a popcorn movie deluxe, it's not popcorn cinema and it's surely not an entertainment veichle or even an empty entertainment where you watch enjoy and afterwards then forget about it entirely it's just bad in a way like it's an abomination wich it is the story of farmer ( played by Jason statham who is a great action star shows none of his skills here as a great martial artist actor ) tries to save his wife and on the way encounters more stuff to do and meanwhile a nephew ( played by the laughably bad acting Mathew lillard) of the king ( badly played and portrayed by Burt Reynolds ) wants to poison him to become king and it's all truly painful to watch I had a bad time watching this heaping mound of dog 💩 from bad acting, cringe worthy dialogue and tiresome, exhausting, mind numbing, uninteresting, unconvincing, masturbating, dull, tedious, lame, boring, and badly edited, badly choreographed and forgettable action scenes from the first attack to the middle forest fight, to the ending battle that rips off the night battle in helms deep in lord of the rings 2 laughably ugly, unconvincing badly costume designed ripper monsters called the krug, shoddy production designs, visual looks and landscapes, I was soo bored out of my skull about the performances and I was thinking wich were the worst Claire forlani is a lame and dull love interest to statham who she has zero chemistry with resulting I was rooting them to break up or have the wife die and be killed by the krug their son even looks like manure like it's played by a fake dummy and i didn't Care after he was killed and I was even happy because his lines were atrocious and there is even a scene were the wife hears about her sons dead then cries and it sounds extremely cringe worthy and unpleasant here dressings and wardrobe looked like dog💩 leelee Sobieski does an awful job portraying some random Girl wanting to fight wich she doesn't do at all she is portrayed as a coward, Burt Reynolds gives the worst depiction of a king ever doing a poor man's king theoden wich was the best portrayal of a king and had a brave act and sacrifice were at the end I felt sad when he died but here I didn't care at alll when Burt Reynolds, king konreid dies everytime he speaks I litterely cringed it's almost as if it didn't even sound like Burt's actuall voice and even if he was trying to make a voice he did it poorly, John Rhys Davies squanders his talent for paycheck by playing a watered down gimli with a heroic style of gandalf that doesn't match the magic of how gandalf was portrayed in the LOTR movies, and ray liotta looks irritated, aggitated and uncomfortable playing some evil wizard that combines Saruman with some leather jacket dude from a goodfellas throwback scene he is lame here growing tired and sick of his same old stupid evil laughter he often does in many roles and unlike in goodfellas he's not likeable here not because of him being a villain but because of his godawful performance and nothing helps with the editing and bewildering cinematography and his screen time and the movie in general, Ron Perlman is wasted as some neighbor friend and sidekick who can't act or say his own lines correctly and he is killed off without explenation at the end and when any charachter dies off it's all forgotten, the brother of the wife ( played by bill sanderson ) is even more annoying and badly acted here as he looks like he is doing some bad Australian or Irish accent Everything is wrong here it's not just a crime against cinema it's a crime against humanity and to those 4 critics who gave this turkey turd a positive review shame on you you are not a real critic this movie is absolutely stupid and godawful it's the battlefield earth during medieval fantasy land far far away in a shrek like make believe fantasy world do not see it and I hope this film is banned from being seen for all eternity 0/10 Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 09/28/22 Full Review Read all reviews
