Audience Member a mild romantic comedy/drama that reminds me of the type made in the 1950s..no blatant sex or even kissing, just a sweet, fairly bland tale. Ching Wan Lau is my favorite hk actor, and he is quite charming here. Carina Lau is excellent as well, and Cherrie Ying is an absolute darling babe. Their performances rise above the pedestrian plot, and propel this film to watcheable entertainment. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Audience Member Slow, sweet, clean, sensual. I Loved the music in this movie. Haven't seen a good cantonese comedy in a while!!! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/24/23 Full Review Audience Member Ching Wan Lau is right up there with my favourite actors. Carina Lau is superb as always and extremely hot in this, while Cherrie Ying played great off of Ching. You know whats going to happen with the 2 couples but i still really enjoyed it. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review Audience Member Reality check for mature relationship challenges... Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/15/23 Full Review Audience Member [img]http://ls.hk.yimg.com/hk/providers/filmplay/hp_itchyheart.jpg[/img] One of the few high points of the TV service I have in my new place here in HK is the fact that there are two channels that continually play Hong Kong movies 24 hours a day. Today for some reason I decided to sit still long enough to watch most of one, the 2004 film 'Itchy Heart' (aka '7 year itch') starring Lau Ching-wan and Carina Lau). Its a pretty paint-by-the-numbers love triangle type story... a few laughs, some drama, everything ends happily ever after... actually its more of a love pentagon I guess... Lau Ching-wan plays a guy in a loveless 7 year marriage with Coco Chiang (are you crazy?!? how can you be bored with a wife that beautiful?) While his wife is out of town on a trip, his interest is captured by a young, cute, energetic beauty (Cherrie Ying). Meanwhile he also runs into his ex-gf, played by the veteran Carina Lau. Much hilarity ensues, eventually exactly what you knew was going to happen happens, Lau Chingwan gets back together with Carina, que the music. :-P It was entertaining, especially the Grease scene, and there is some chemistry, but the execution is poor and Andy On's jealous boyfriend character is quite horrible. I'll give it a 4, but just because of Cherrie Ying and her onsen scene. :-P Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/01/23 Full Review Read all reviews
