      Carlos T Minha opinião: Como já disse em outros comentários de filmes Biblicos, quando assistimos depois de ter lido a historia na Biblia e vemos no filme nos da um entendimento muito maior na passagens da Biblia. É claro que no filme não é tão minuncioso a historia como é relatada na Biblia. Porém nos da um grande entendimento. Este filme assisti algumas vezes desde a "Seção da Tarde". Quanto tempo. Temos aqui atores consagrados Matthew, Sean, Giancarlo, Lara..... Com uma seleção destas é claro que sairá uma boa obra. E saiu, com boas atuações dos atores. E conta a historia desde o ventre de Rebecca até a sua entrada na Terra de Canaã.Que foi a promessa de Deus. E com Jacó é onde é formada as 12 tribos de Israel, tanto que Deus muda seu nome de Jacó para Israel. Conta desde momento que Esaú troca sua primogenitura por um prato de lentilha até quando recebe a benção de seu pai Isaque se passando por Esaú. Sua fuga para a casa de seu tio Labão, onde se apaixona pela sua prima Raquel. Pede a mão dela em casamento mas teria de pagar com 7 anos de trabalho, uma vez que Labão viu que Jacó era abençoado, o enganou fazendo casar com Lea sua primogênita e fazendo ele trabalhar mais 7 anos para casar com Raquel, seu verdeiro amor. Labão tentava enganar Jacó com as ovelhas malhadas ou preta, mas Deus era com Jacó. A crise de Raquel pois ela não engravidava, mas Deus tem misericórdia dela. E os filhos que teve também com suas servas Bila e Zilpa. Até o nascimento de José (que é outra historia). Sua fuga da casa Labão e seu ecnotro com Esaú e onde ele perde perdão. E sua entrada em Canaã. Roteiro e enredo muito bem construído conforme a palavra de Deus (Biblia). Vale apena assistir? Sim pois temos também a luta de Jacó com o Anjo onde sua coxa é ferida. I have read that Ted Turner despite all rumors brought us ( Us being people in the United States) the bible collection because of his strong belief in Christianity. This is the biblical story of Jacob, though I can find no information on what bible this story is based on. Be it King James, New Hope etc. The movie starts when Esau sells his birthright to his twin brother Jacob for a bowl of pottage (red lentil stew), and then gets deceived out of his father's blessing by his mother Rebekah. I believe here the bible teaches us about deception, as later Jacob is deceived at his wedding. Made in 1994 watching the movie I felt it was older then that. Not the very best movie I have seen from the Bible collection, but I will give it 3 Stars.
