Aurora Amidon Paste Magazine Gaffigan’s comfort in sticking to his light-hearted, inoffensive joke-style when discussing matters like the pandemic is exactly what makes Comedy Monster so effective—and so eerie. Rated: 8/10 Mar 22, 2022 Full Review Read all reviews

Gary D Tremendous act by JG this time around. Well done. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 09/04/23 Full Review Andrew J Slow start and saggy in the middle coasted to the end - some of the joke felt like retread of 40tys comedy - not comedy for 40 year olds - but jokes from the 1940s. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 11/15/22 Full Review Audience Member Just because you say things in a girly voice, doesn't make it funny. Bad material is bad material, irrespective of your fame. Also, bold move going after the non-woke normies. That used to be your audience. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/12/23 Full Review geralt g Constant laughs - I don't ask for anything more from a comedy special. True comedy genius - takes the littlest side topic and makes it hilarious. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member I've always loved Gaffigan. Watched comedy monster for a laugh. Covid, vacations, parades, look alikes… The shtick is getting old and predictable. Callbacks were lame. He smiled and laughed at his own jokes a lot though. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review Audience Member I've enjoyed Jim's comedy in the past, but this was the least funny, least creative gathering of low-hanging fruit I've ever seen in comedy. It's basically the quality of writing behind any number of these super hero movies, but without the action, CGI, or entertainment. I've never felt like it was more effort for me to sit through the jokes than it was for the comedian to write and perform them, until now. Usually I can see a way to realizing how some people might find a joke funny that didn't land with me, but these were largely just so bland and obvious, it's like he took all the material from satirical talk show hosts over the last year (but not the good ones).
