Synopsis
Édouard Lavigne (Daniel Gélin) is an artist living in Paris and having an affair with his muse, Julienne (Pascale Petit). Édouard wants to marry her and devote his life to art, but his father disapproves. He demands that his son move home, marry the heiress of a factory and join the family business. Édouard concedes and has a son, Jean (also Gélin). When Édouard dies, he wills a large part of his estate to Julienne. Jean sets out to find Julienne and reclaim the inheritance.
