Nolan K I was kinda disappointed by this movie, maybe because I watched the Monsterverse out of order, I watched this one last and it was my second least favorite one. But what it does get right is the characterization of Skull Island. But I don't like the characters, Kong is under appreciated and it just feels so bland. The only good parts are the pilot dude and the creatures of Skull Island. Not a great movie, but it sets up the rest of the Monsterverse well. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 04/17/24 Full Review Mason V i didn't see it for years. but now that i did, i realize… it's good! Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 04/17/24 Full Review Rich A If your a Kong fan this a must see! Action excitement my number two maybe 3 on the Kong movies. Numbers don't lie check box office outdid Godzilla watch it and you will know why! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/16/24 Full Review Paul A by far, my favorite out of all the Kongs Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 04/16/24 Full Review Gorptholemew T 🍅 8.2/10 You could call it over bloated with characters, but honestly, I find every single character in here to be gold this is the perfect mix of kaiju action quips and Vietnam war vibes. I love Samuel L Jackson's performance and the visuals are amazing also Tom Hiddleston Brie Larson are fire easily, hands-down, the best out of the monster verse is provided here in Kong skull island. Also Cole's death 😭. Grade A- Rated 4 out of 5 stars 04/16/24 Full Review Chris P (DVD, 4/4/24, Adventure/Action) Quick shot: Scientist, soldiers and adventurers explore a mythical, uncharted island. It's a King Kong movie so you know it's gonna be f/x heavy. With a giant lizard from Tokyo unavailable, the directors introduce several new monstrosities. It's nice to see Kong revered and not just seen as a monster. There is a nice back story of finding a pilot who has been stuck on the island since he crashed in WW2. Overall I enjoyed this film. Kristen Lopez Culturess There's life in the old ape yet, but he sinks like the Titanic. Nov 20, 2017 Full Review K. Austin Collins The Ringer Kong: Skull Island isn't a B-movie - but with its intentionally bad writing and jarring lack of cohesion, it lamely pretends to be one. Aug 10, 2017 Full Review Angie Han Mashable The humans, meanwhile, are largely left to stare in awe. Jun 5, 2017 Full Review Cory Woodroof For the Win (USA Today) The monster action was actually pretty thrilling, but the film doesn’t do some of its main characters a lot of favors with the script. Mar 28, 2024 Full Review Josh Larsen LarsenOnFilm ...gives good Kong. Rated: 2.5/4 Mar 15, 2024 Full Review Rebecca Johnson Film Focus Online The action is frequent and engaging, the CGI looks fantastic, the story-line is captivating, and the movie is paced well and rounded off with an epic final battle.
