A pretty weird flick that I stumbled upon. I'm not completely sure but Kaspar Hauser is a German character or something, a tale or a real man, that was completely alone and isolated living in a dark cell all his life back in the 1700's.
This is the idea behind this film as "The Pusher", acted out by the fantastic Vincent Gallo, finds this man drifing in from the shore. He is dead, but comes back to life. Here the small population tries to figure his purpose and what this person is doing here.
It turnes out that Kaspar has some huge commitment to music as he always dance and keeps his headphones on. We watch him learning stuff like riding a mule, a few words and learning some DJ-techniques. Mostly with "The Pusher" in command. Kaspar is acted out by a girl by the way. This film is probably trying to tell me something, but I don't care much. I do get the "Kaspar Hauser idea sat in the 2000 +"-idea, though. I like the colors. Very bright white and black on screen. It has interesting characters and little dialogue. Impressive acting and a fantastic electronic score.
Not to long, not to complex, but pretty to look at and sort of mesmerizing, alowing you to drift away and just watch. Still, not a great film, even with some seriously cool and fun scenes.
5.5 out of 10 DJ's.
