Arthur G I have researched the back story with Carter and Hoagh when she was a feature dancer at Houston's Treasures club. Git she was corrupted by money and attention and turned her back on her struggling bf screen writer fir a wealthy white customer. Strippers reviewed the film and thought dialogue was poor except that strippers never tell the truth. Monica was a narcissist and Kevin a emotjc so she was very hard on her fiancée because he didn't measure up to the exciting and sugar daddy Chicago Yet the rules she was given I found on numerous stripper blogs and YouTube videos including keep your private life and real name private. What happens in the club stats there and stripper code is your not the customers GF or private escort north violated by Monica who gave out her real name. VIP lounges the strippers call the shots and the deal and money are settled up front but Monica kneee early on Chicago wasn't going to help her career and was going to give that $1000 lap dance another rule broken. Going to a party she took money out of Chicago's hand and going to LS only after he offered to pay her was telling. The limo parties and staying nights with Chicago all the while hiding this and not answering her phone fir which she deflected it as Kevin being needy brother please he brought her to the party paid incidental expenses so her cash paid for her dad all forgotten and not and not appreciated by Monica because she was out earning her fiancée. who should have blown up sooner and read her the riot act if she was going to have a lasting partner and stripper reviews mentioned married strippers who stayed married because they never let the club or money mess their head like Monica. Ending was criticized but Carter and Hoang got through it evidently. Carter stated he wanted true love to prevail? Monica found out Chicago wasn't Kevin just a hustler looking for another "bitch" of course daddy died after she was easily let herself be controlled by Chicago wake up call was believable the dialogue just didn't have enough interactions between the couple to establish the relationship between a narcissist and her empathic man. Kevin in the end did call it right she was a attention seeker and Chicago filled her needs at great psychological and emotional expense. It's only money sell the house and pay the bills. The billing office handles that and there is charity care hospitals must provide since the dad had insurance. But this film was used too much as a vehicle for black artists stuck into the plot at every opportunity at the expense of serious dialogues between the couple and strippers Kandyland did a better job of drug abuse and physical abuse issues with strippers. There are 10 rules Monica broke from stripper YouTube advice videos. Taking action outside club where money is made to limo and guy's apartment the dating a club customer and giving out real name phone number and not keeping private life secret. She kicked Kevin to the curb so Chicago was her boyfriend another mistake you don't understand the customer is not going to be a friend just a hustle to see section or dance to. Don't mess with another strippers customers so Lexi sought revenge along with JayDee using X after Monica got even stupider. Money for any service is negotiated before hand in VIP room or to be a "date" which stripper advise is bad idea. What goes on in a club stays in the club. If Monica was a good girl go to a club that isn't FS as a private contractor she could go anywhere not dive she was at. She was warned about drug dealer and pimps also go to club to recruite newbies which Chicago did with Monica another set of rules ignored. Get a fake name not babygirl a tag used for any rookie. Don't see enough real dialogue from the couple or Kevin getting on his wayward GF using money to disrespect him and in end herself. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/24/23 Full Review Audience Member There is something in the skill and training of writer/director Greg Carter that makes this low-budget straight to DVD/streaming erotic drama better than the average junk in this genre. The writing and performances are a step above what you usually find in this category. Based on a true story. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/01/23 Full Review Audience Member Good for a laugh or two. Don't expect much more than that. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member Supposedly based on a true story, I'd be willing to wager that it is only 'loosely' so. For every 1,000 stripper/boyfriend stories that happen in the real world, 999 of them don't have the happily ever after ending that this turkey of a story would have you believe. Every single cliche in this far too often made genre is right there in this movie too, as if there is a printed guide available to producers and directors who know a hot girl they want to put in a movie. And grant it the main character Monica is played by a genuine hottie (Ali Cobrin ). The rest of the entertainers look like they were dragged into a police lineup at 3 AM out of some slimeball dive. Ugh. What Mariel Hemingway is doing in this movie, I have no idea---I mean literally! It's as if she was actually making a different film across the hall, and wandered in aimlessly, accidentally getting into 2 awfully acted scenes. The dying father's acting is even worse. He looks like he's in a TV commercial for post-nasal drip. This isn't what real upscale strip clubs are like, it's what girlfriends, wives, and stripper's boyfriends are afraid they are like. But there IS one amazing insight that one learns from watching: "Never believe anything a stripper tells you." Now who would have ever thought that? ;-) Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/14/23 Full Review Audience Member This is an interesting film for many reasons but it's far from being a masterpiece in itself. I enjoyed the story because somehow the film was depicting in an interesting way the slow downfall into exotic dancing of a young woman who thought she could make quick money and get out of the game without problems. This kin of industry bring actually a whole range of issues, shady characters and easy money always comes with a price. The main actress was actually excellent because she could make us believe completely that by day she was a regular girl but by night she was this glamorous lap dancer. The film was well shot and some excellent work was done with the lighting and the dancing choreographies. It's not a film that one watched for the storyline of course but it blended pretty well and the film managed to rise above the lot. It turned out to be pretty decent and entertaining without feeling like a moralistic piece on the dangers of the job. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/26/23 Full Review Audience Member Don't even bother. Avoid it like the plague. If u want to catch Carmen Electra, better grab a rerun of Baywatch instead. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Read all reviews
