Audience Member I had the opportunity to see this brilliant French film while returning from Europe on Air France. It is an expose of the recruitment process of disillusioned young women by islamic militants whose intention is only to use them in their war against the west. It is not a condemnation of muslims or the islamic religion. In fact, desperate families of the targeted women use muslim intermediaries to intervene in their recruitment. It illuminates an understanding of why youths would turn their back on family, friends and culture only to deliver themselves to an organization for self sacrifice. I was impressed by this film and its dedication to an authentic and entirely believable but eye opening narrative of seduction to a violent cause, in much the same way people are psychologically attracted, against all reason, to a cult. Theatrically, way above anything I've seen of this genre produced by an American made film. All these young teenagers who are influenced by all the obscure currents of the net. This movie shows us with all its brutality, how young teenagers fall into the radicalization of extreme religious movements, in order to get rid of everything, their brains are taken hostage without even realizing the danger that threatens them. What director Marie-Castille Mention-Schaar signs her striking movie of truth, an essential film, terrifying of realism, an uppercut in full face and facing this realism of our present society. One can also say that the interpretation of the two actresses: Noémie Merlant and Naomi Amarger interpreted their role with an impressive truth, that it was even cold in the back and gave this movie all the power to movie, facing these scourges and facing the strategies of recruitment of this youth so easily malleable. A film showed in the middle school and hight scool to precisely show all the terror that will follow after, to be trapped by these crazy terrorists without any scruple. A movie that raised my tension so much, i thought, is to say the strength of it. A movie really meditated on the future of a certain fragile youth. But I still end by force and presence in their respective roles of the two young teenagers, they really amazed me. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
