Catherine C Crane and his crew surprised me with every turn. The rising tension, humanization of all interview subjects, and heights of emotional and civic conflict made this a searing ride. Crane was a great researcher and thoughtful about his role within the film -- in a meta sense, Living in Tents forces all of us to reckon with the discomfort and shame of living in cities where homelessness remains at large.
