      What to Know

      Critics Consensus

Lilly Collins and Sam Claflin are appealing, and they give it their all, but they're undone by Love, Rosie's silly, clichéd storyline.

KB B It's not the best romcom but it's ok. It's kind of predictable. Watch if there's nothing else on. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/19/24 Full Review Lisa A Awful from beginning to end. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/20/24 Full Review Tristan T Words can't describe how much I love this movie, some will say it's mediocre and it probably is since I haven't watched a lot of romance but this movie will forever have a special place in my heart, it's fun it's a feel good film and it's honestly so funny and I love how even if they keep missing each with Rosie (Lily Collins) getting pregnant getting married, and Alex (sam claflin) moving to Boston, his girlfriend getting pregnant, getting cheated on, and getting married to a model but yet at the end they still find each other and I love how it makes a loop at the end I love sam claflin and lily collins together! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/14/24 Full Review Anton D Adorable movie and fine performances, but if there were a prize for least accurate portrayal of Boston this would be a strong contender. Harvard undergraduates (who cannot major in medicine) frolicking at an outdoor pool party? No more likely in Cambridge Mass than in Cambridge UK. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/22/24 Full Review Ava S The obnoxious screenplay hurls a messy miscommunication trope amid a relationship that lacks chemistry, despite its two charismatic leads, leaving much to be desired. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 12/17/23 Full Review byyyi m "Love, Rosie" is like the best romantic gossip made to film. Rosie and Alex is all drama, laughter and heartbreak, but it leaves you with that bittersweet feeling that only true love can have. A rollercoaster of emotions worth seeing if you like rom coms Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 12/04/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Olivia Luder One Room With A View As the pair of childhood BFFs, Claflin and Collins are almost charming enough to distract from a confused and childish plot, but Love, Rosie still has a lot of growing up to do. Rated: 3/5 May 31, 2019 Full Review Christy Lemire RogerEbert.com "Love, Rosie" is one of those annoying movies in which everything would be just fine if the two central characters had a simple conversation that cleared up all their misunderstandings. Rated: 2/4 Feb 6, 2015 Full Review Kiva Reardon Globe and Mail Love, Rosie's early charm fades by the end, given that, as time (and the movie) wears on, neither Rosie nor Alex get any more mature when it comes to matters of the heart. Rated: 2.5/4 Feb 6, 2015 Full Review Richard Crouse Richard Crouse Imagine an Irish When Harry Met Sally rehash without the diner orgasm scene and you are on the way to understanding Love, Rosie. Rated: 2.5/5 Feb 2, 2021 Full Review Allen Almachar The MacGuffin This is a by-the-numbers outing that doesn't add much to its genre, if anything at all. Rated: C Jul 16, 2020 Full Review Edward Frost CineVue Mimicking almost verbatim the plot fluctuations of David Nicholls' 2009 novel One Day, Love, Rosie is an uninventive adaptation that revels in base-level humour.
