Steve Rhodes Internet Reviews This is a small story in which the gentle stroking of one's back at dinner comprises most of the action is. Rated: 2.5/4 Mar 8, 2007 Full Review Boyd van Hoeij european-films.net Elevates its soapy storyline (a girl is involved in both a lesbian love story and an incestuous relationship with her brother) by taking it seriously without bursting into nervous laughter even once. Audience Member Unfortunately, despite what I expected, Tudor Giurgiu's 2006 love triangle flick is an almost complete misfire. The premise is pure gold for psychosexual exploration but, even though there are a few thought-provoking scenes and the 2000's Romania zeitgeist is just right, every ounce of potential this film had was hopelessly drowned in cringe-inducing dialogue, distractingly bad editing and lazy melodrama. Somehow, this film is roughly 90 minutes long, yet it feels endless. A short film featuring precisely these characters would have honestly been quite decent had the director cut away all the irrelevant stuff which takes up about three quarters of the movie. The plot is basically non-existent, which normally I wouldn't mind if the characters were nuanced enough for me to be invested in their development. What I do appreciate about this film, though, is the fact that it never tries to be edgy for the sake of edginess by becoming gratuitously sexual in nature as many other similar films do. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/22/23 Full Review Audience Member nesatula tipa aia :)) Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/19/23 Full Review Audience Member it felt pretty weird seeing it, as it is in Romanian. but I think we all at a certain moment develop this kind of relationships, for several reasons: it's as good as a real one, so why not?, it's easier, no complications, and so on and so forth. just that, this can never last, and it is not fulfilling everything, you still feel that something is missing. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/11/23 Full Review Audience Member A Roman movie that portrays two girls who, at first, seems to be just typical best friends. But as the story goes deeper, it was revealed that they are lovers entrapped in an incestuous love triangle (one girl is having a relationship with her own older brother). The story is good, although the incest part is a bit weird for my taste. It doesn't have the ticklish romantic factor. The story is actually quiet disturbing, but still good. And the two girls look cute together. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Audience Member An excellent bit of filmmaking and acting!!! The Romanian language is also fascinating with what sounds like a bit of French, Spanish, Portuguese, and Russian; all mixed with something else that is very distinct.
