MAKE A WISH follows Kaan, a young boy living a beautiful and happy life in the countryside, until one day he learns that his family will move to Istanbul. Upset by the news, and not wanting to leave his friends behind, Kaan finds a solution in a book titled 'Make A Wish', given to him by his aunt for his birthday. The book follows another young boy, Berke, who lives in the golden citadel town of Mardin, but is bullied at school. After Berke discovers his turtle is magic, the bullying ceases when he becomes popular by using his turtle to grant wishes for himself and his friends, until one day he loses his turtle. It's only until Berke's grandfather teaches him the secret behind making wishes isn't on some magical turtle, but the true belief in oneself that we hold the power to make our own wishes come true. Through this book, Kaan uncovers the secret of how to make his own wishes a reality, while offering him new horizons and opening the door to a world he never imagined. MAKE A WISH is imbued with values and life lessons for everyone; teaching us the art of making wishes come true requires love, courage, and faith in our everyday lives.

Richard G H What a sweet & poignant story (actually two stories, woven-together brilliantly by filmmaker Meta Akkus); I really enjoyed this heartwarming & uplifting movie! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/10/22 Full Review Nick K A lyrically beautiful film which captures the agonies of growing up in two cleverly intertwined parallel stories. The scenery, cast and cinematography are all magical and gorgeous. The townscape of Mardin is as alluring as the actors. The music is compelling. It is a meaningful story which is told with the most delicate of touches. The film is suffused with a golden light which enchants the viewer. Absolutely must see! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/09/22 Full Review dave m Brilliantly shot with poignant performances, a whimsical lesson on youth and discovering the power of manifestation. Must see! B I'm bias, as I'm Meta's manager and an Exec Producer for MAKE A WISH, but... Meta Akkus really poured her heart into this film. It truly shows in the shots, and the great performances she got from all her cast and crew. It's beautifully shot and deserves to be recognized for that.
