Mank is a love letter and a poison pen, though like much of its meticulous director's output, this film (that's not a film, though it's often made to look like one) is weighed down by the burden of time.

While it’d be a stretch to compare Mank to Kane, one can’t help but admire Fincher’s film for championing a similar rebirth of such inspiring idealism in its own cynical, acerbic, yet endearing way.

Is it his most accessible film to date? No, but who cares? We got a new Fincher movie in 2020 and it was very much a Fincher movie.

Terribly difficult to follow...exaggerated film noir style made it difficult to view...overall obscure and dense..would not recommend for any audience.

Overall liked the movie and glad I saw it. There was more jumping back and forth with flashbacks than I care for, but inserting the dates helped (but didnt entirely eliminate) confusion.
