Pent-up military cadets decide to invite sultry French actress Michelle Marton (Christine Carère) to their graduation, and for a date with one of them. Despite his lack of interest in the scheme, Paul Newell (Pat Boone) gets chosen as her escort, and the boys travel to New Orleans to present the idea to the actress. While searching for the star in the chaos of Mardi Gras, where she's to appear on a float, Paul falls for a beautiful girl from Los Angeles -- who is actually Michelle incognito!

Audience Member Vehicle for Pat Boone who talk, sing like Bing Crosby. (Movie co-star Bing son Gary. Also Derwin #2. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/17/23 Full Review Audience Member There's not much of a story but the stars are fresh and appealing. Pat Boone is in fine voice, while Christine Carere is a joy to behold. This is a pleasant recollection of a time when people still valued innocence and sweetness. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/03/23 Full Review ashley h Mardi Gras is a cute film. It is about cadets at the Virginia Military Institute who organized a raffle to win a date with Michelle Marton, a French actress. Pat Boone and Christine Carère give excellent performances. The screenplay is decent and the music's great. Edmund Goulding did a great job directing this movie. I liked this motion picture but not one of my favorites.
