IrateTyrant C Kind of fun with a lot of bad acting This was an interesting watch with b-rate acting and quite cheesy special effects. I heard that it was a sequel to The Deadly Spawn (1983,) and tracked down the original for a while. The aliens in both are significantly related to one another, but it is a strange addition to the series if it is one. They mention in this that there had been a previous invasion of aliens, which leads me to believe it is an actual sequel. There's also an Alien Factor by director Don Dohler which is completely unrelated and has its own sequel called Alien Factor 2. This was overall a pretty fun watch with plenty of creative practical effects that make it kind of worthwhile. Still, I wonder if it is a sequel, prequel, or standalone? Rated 3 out of 5 stars 12/29/23 Full Review Audience Member "I'm not taking its temperature." An outer space alien mutant being kept alive in a research laboratory bites a scientist, which causes changes in the doctor's atoms and he soon morphs into a deadly monster. A somewhat comedic sci-fi/horror with decent practical effects including stop-motion which were above average. Originally this was to be a sequel to "The Deadly Spawn", but the plot is not at all similar. A bit too many of the scenes used to progress the story were strictly dialogue and the voice overs were unnecessary, so there was a bit of downtime throughout. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/02/23 Full Review Audience Member Any sci-fi creature feature needs some good special effects to make the main monster believable, but the characters are what will really sell the film to the audience. "Metamorphosis" doesn't exactly hit the mark here, but the central characters in the film have just enough depth to carry the film. Don't get me wrong--there are definitely some moments of bad acting, but that's expected of an early 90s b-movie. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/12/23 Full Review Audience Member cheap and cheerfull horror fun like the good old days! Like a mix between the deadly spawn and the thing the main creature at times resembles a walking penis with teeth but its incredibly cool and fun to watch. The creature aside from the last comment is really effective and just looks great from its slimy birth pod to its monster wobbling about adult hood. Not that much gore in this more slime and blood splattering effects. The acting is fun and passbale, no awards here but at least you dont feel like you want to punch any of them. They are quite fun and to be honest most of them die in a fuun way anyway so even if you dont like them dont worry! The story narrative is well laid out with the first part explaining the monster while the next showing it on a rampage. Its just like the cheese fests of the 80s. Weird rubber monsters, tentacles and shooting out blood pods and even some stop motion make this a barrel of laughs. All the effects in this are great from the poor hand puppets to the bigger complex beasts they all look original and incredible. If you like some harmless fun and a lot of cheese this needs to be on your to watch list :) Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/24/23 Full Review Audience Member Sehr trashiger Film der mir sehr gefallen hat. Die Schauspieler sind schlecht, die Story (?!?) herrlich und die Effekte waren wirklich nett... es gab einige blutige Effekte und das Monster sah aus wie eine Mischung aus Elefant, Saurier und riesiger verkrüppelter Penis. YAY!!! 2,5/5 Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Audience Member Jó ez a plakát csak kár, hogy a film egy percet sem játszódik az űrben. :) A Metamorphosis amúgy egy elà (C)g látványos szörnyfilm, helyenkà (C)nt dögös trà 1/4kkökkel à (C)s sok và (C)rengzà (C)ssel. Ezt leszámítva termà (C)szetesen tele van ostobaságokkal, tinikkel, meg balfà (C)k tudósokkal. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Read all reviews
