Hassan J A Masterpiece by Satoshi Kon. you cant really explain it. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/13/24 Full Review Dani G I understand the concept, but... this was really well under other works from the director. I think he underperformed in this one Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 11/22/23 Full Review Erica K After watching Paprika and Perfect Blue i definitely had to check out my next Madhouse movie on the list; Millennium Actress. Madhouse has shown amazing movie concepts with breath-taking animation and Millennium Actress was definitely a beautiful example of that. The entire movie plot was amazing and always left me wondering what will happen next in Chiyoko's story. The ending broke me so bad... But no spoilers! One thing i have to point out about the movie though is that... its like... really confusing. Not that that's a bad thing, but at some point throughout the story it was hard to tell what was her acting career and what was real life in her story. This made me lost in thought and i had to re-watch some scenes over and over just to at least understand a little about the concept. But overall this movie was definitely NOT a flop, it was amazing and truly a sad story if you really get into watching it! Madhouse really be making amazing anime movies in their time. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 10/09/23 Full Review Alejandro E This is one of these examples that cinema is a reflection of moments in life. The tour-de-force story in the life of an actress is immersive as magnetic, grabbing the viewer's full attention. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/27/23 Full Review Yash B "Millennium Actress" could have easily been a standard movie about a character's backstory. Satoshi Kon added his creative style to this movie which makes it perplexing at times but also a fascinating watch. The presentation of events works well for an animated movie and I think it is the type of film that could be fun to analyze and discuss. It is certainly not a movie I fully grasped after just one viewing but I still found the characters interesting and the storytelling style unique. Overall, it is a good entry in this filmmaker's short but fascinating filmography and is worth watching and unpacking. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 08/21/23 Full Review Maria Also another of Kons amazing movies, this is so good at mixing reality and dreams and confuse the viewers. The colors. The directing. I love this <3 Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 07/19/23 Full Review Read all reviews
