Christopher Kelly Fort Worth Star-Telegram/DFW.com Abrams has put forth the most James Bond-like installment of the franchise, paying little attention to plausibility and even less to the laws of physics. May 21, 2025 Full Review Sukhdev Sandhu Daily Telegraph (UK) While the narrative...is a hit-and-miss affair, Abrams does succeed in giving depth to the film's complex, swarming cluster of personal relationships. May 21, 2025 Full Review Joe Williams St. Louis Post-Dispatch In exchange for sitting through two hours of product placements and soul-deadening action sequences, we get a hectic tour of global hot spots and an illusory peek into the world of espionage. Rated: C- May 21, 2025 Full Review Katherine Monk Vancouver Sun Director J.J. Abrams does a nice job making Cruise look heroic...without making it look like a fashion shoot -although, there are times when it's tough to tell- and he even has enough confidence to offer some quiet moments to push some emotional content. Rated: 3/5 May 21, 2025 Full Review Gary Wolcott Tri-City Herald Though it still is missing the cerebral touch and machinelike precision of Bruce Geller's original TV series, Abrams' restless camera and sharp editing give his movie an edge that was missing in the first two films... Rated: B+ May 21, 2025 Full Review Christopher Borrelli Toledo Blade There's nothing really wrong with Mission III - except that sneaking suspicion that no surprises and no margin of error is what Cruise...intended. Flynn S A good film in the franchise. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 09/08/25 Full Review Andrew B Solid overall but story was weak, action scenes good. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 08/23/25 Full Review chris m first english, below spanish: english: a landmark in the action genre. one of the most tense and vibrant openings contemporary action cinema has ever delivered. from the very first second, the film establishes its atmosphere and narrative pulse with admirable force, pulling the audience fully into the experience without concessions. the action strikes head-on, with no pauses or preparations, setting the tone for the rest of the film. the use of resources and tools in the action sequences is executed with a precision that borders on cinematic craftsmanship. everything breathes professionalism: from direction and production to the choreography of each sequence. it is true that the genre can never completely escape that component of unreality —that “too fake to be real” which always hovers over this kind of film—, but here it functions not as a flaw, but as part of its own aesthetic code. the characters carry enough charisma to sustain the story, though the dialogues do not go much beyond the functional. on the other hand, the visual effects achieve an outstanding finish, adding spectacle without excess. the final climax plays with tension and rhythm, offering an effective resolution, perhaps not the most memorable in the genre, but solid enough to round off the experience. ultimately, 'mission: impossible III' stands as an entry that restores freshness and energy to the saga, especially after an uneven second installment. a film that, despite its inevitable licenses with plausibility, leaves a satisfying aftertaste and consolidates the franchise as one of the most imposing in modern action cinema. spanish: huella en el género de acción. uno de los comienzos más tensos y vibrantes que ha dado el cine de acción contemporáneo. desde el primer segundo, la película establece su atmósfera y su pulso narrativo con una contundencia admirable, obligando al espectador a entrar de lleno en la experiencia sin concesiones. la acción golpea de frente, sin pausas ni preparativos, y marca la línea de lo que será el resto del metraje. el uso de recursos y herramientas en las escenas de acción se ejecuta con una precisión que roza la artesanía cinematográfica. todo respira profesionalidad: desde la dirección y la producción hasta la coreografía de cada secuencia. es cierto que el género nunca puede desprenderse de ese componente de irrealidad —ese “demasiado falso para ser real” que siempre flota sobre este tipo de propuestas—, pero aquí no actúa como obstáculo, sino como parte de su propio código estético. los personajes poseen el carisma necesario para sostener la trama, aunque los diálogos no trascienden más allá de lo funcional. en cambio, los efectos especiales logran un acabado sobresaliente, aportando espectacularidad sin caer en lo gratuito. el clímax final apuesta por la tensión y el ritmo, ofreciendo una resolución eficaz, quizá no la más memorable del género, pero sí lo bastante sólida para redondear la experiencia. en definitiva, 'misión imposible III' se erige como una entrega que devuelve frescura y energía a la saga, especialmente después de una segunda parte irregular. una película que, aun con sus inevitables licencias de verosimilitud, deja un sabor de boca satisfactorio y consolida a la franquicia como una de las más imponentes del cine de acción moderno. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 08/22/25 Full Review Nick H I really liked this one, much better than the last Mission Impossible. Philip Seymour Hoffman was a very good villain as well. The movie also had that good JJ Abrams mystery to it with you never really knowing what the “rabbits foot” really was. Very entertaining but still not as good as the original. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 08/21/25 Full Review Lucky01 Mission: Impossible III feels like a standard "Mission: Impossible" template — there’s a crisis, and the team calls in Ethan Hunt to save the day Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 08/13/25 Full Review Audience Member Tom Cruise is very pretty, but that is all that is pretty from this movie. Skip this dud, and go straight to four or five. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 08/08/25 Full Review Read all reviews
