Christopher Kelly Fort Worth Star-Telegram/DFW.com Abrams has put forth the most James Bond-like installment of the franchise, paying little attention to plausibility and even less to the laws of physics. May 21, 2025 Full Review Sukhdev Sandhu Daily Telegraph (UK) While the narrative...is a hit-and-miss affair, Abrams does succeed in giving depth to the film's complex, swarming cluster of personal relationships. May 21, 2025 Full Review Joe Williams St. Louis Post-Dispatch In exchange for sitting through two hours of product placements and soul-deadening action sequences, we get a hectic tour of global hot spots and an illusory peek into the world of espionage. Rated: C- May 21, 2025 Full Review Katherine Monk Vancouver Sun Director J.J. Abrams does a nice job making Cruise look heroic...without making it look like a fashion shoot -although, there are times when it's tough to tell- and he even has enough confidence to offer some quiet moments to push some emotional content. Rated: 3/5 May 21, 2025 Full Review Gary Wolcott Tri-City Herald Though it still is missing the cerebral touch and machinelike precision of Bruce Geller's original TV series, Abrams' restless camera and sharp editing give his movie an edge that was missing in the first two films... Rated: B+ May 21, 2025 Full Review Christopher Borrelli Toledo Blade There's nothing really wrong with Mission III - except that sneaking suspicion that no surprises and no margin of error is what Cruise...intended. Audience Member Good movie, solid and enjoyable. The story was good for the most part. There were certain aspects I didn’t agree with, such as seemingly crucial details being used simply as plot devices. The love story is more bearable in this film as opposed to the second, and doesn’t become the center of focus, but it does draw away from larger story in some ways. The action was cool, and it had a similar plot line to the first film, and plot twist. Good film overall, heavy bias for the film as I am a fan of the movies though. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 06/12/25 Full Review Alaric T Great movie great action Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/10/25 Full Review David C I think if you were born less than 20 years ago, your find it great, however, its a total rip off. The plot is part lifted completly from Tom Clancys the hunt for red october. A secret submarine, shot by its own torpeado? A secrtet agent flying to meet the USS Dallas, they couldnt be bothered to change the name for gods sake, and dropping into the cold sea... The bit about the secret location, totally lifted from 1968's Ice Station Zebra - Russian agents attack an ice station iincludes a US nuclear submarine that rushes to the North Pole to rescue members of Ice Station Zebra, which has been compromised by Soviet agents. Simon Peggs bullet, collapsed lung, is from 3 kings, and some of the 4th Protocal is lifted about the nuclear wepons.... Oh there are bits of Nikita in the fight scenes, and its just too close to be an accident. Lazy plaugurism. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 06/05/25 Full Review SkyRo P Mission: Impossible III marks a major return to form for the franchise. After the first movie delivered a suspenseful, thrilling ride, the second one fell flat — so much so that it felt like the series might not recover. But thankfully, Tom Cruise and the director didn’t give up on the story, and the third installment is where things really come back to life. What stands out most in this film is the return to strong storytelling and high-stakes action. The pacing is sharp, the action sequences are tight and intense, and the plot feels much more grounded and emotionally driven than the previous film. You can tell the writers took care in crafting something engaging this time around. One of the biggest surprises for me was Keri Russell. I genuinely believe she’s one of the most underrated actresses, especially in action. Her role in this movie shows she has serious action star potential, and it’s unfortunate that Hollywood hasn’t tapped into that more often. She delivers a powerful and compelling performance in a relatively short amount of screen time. Overall, Mission: Impossible III is a strong entry that rejuvenates the franchise. It’s a major step up from the second movie and a clear sign that the series still had a lot to offer. With this installment, the future of Mission: Impossible looks bright — and I’m honestly excited to dive into the fourth one next. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 06/04/25 Full Review Ryan U A swing and miss, I think Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 06/03/25 Full Review Isaac P This movie is amazing, and the best out of the first half of Mission: Impossible. Davian is such a good villain, and unlike the second installment of the franchise, I never got bored once! Every action scene slaps! The highway helicopter attack, the swing off the huge building is even better than the Burj Kalifa scene in Ghost Protocol. You also get Ethan having very personal stakes, something we hadn't REALLY seen before in the previous two movies. Amazing, S-Tier movie! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/02/25 Full Review Read all reviews
