Synopsis
Mr. Emmanuel (Felix Aylmer) is an elderly Jewish man living in England who's taken with the sad story of a young German refugee who has been separated from his mother. The old man recklessly decides to travel to Germany in order to find the boy's mother and bring her to safety in England. But, when he arrives, he's quickly arrested and tortured. Amazingly, he endures and goes on to find the woman. Persuading her to come to England, however, proves much harder than he expected.
