Audience Member For what it is, it's pretty good. Ultra low-budget but enjoyable and very gory to. Very surprised with this and some of the ideas were solid. A little bit of extra money would have helped but certainly i would recommend and showed enough originality in parts. The best scene is when one of the vampires is consumed by it's previous victims. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/14/23 Full Review Audience Member 2 lesbian art teachers are obsessed with with the idea of living forever. They manage to get Elizabeth Bathory's diary. Soon, they start to practice bloody rituals that end up unleashing hell on earth. With every incantation the ladies perform, their meddling unleashes an ancient evil -- one that will devour their very souls and end the lives of innocent victims. This is a fantastic Indy horror film. The ending is freaky and leaves you shivering, because it's scary: ;) Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/01/23 Full Review Audience Member

NIGHT FANGS (2005) Independent WRITTEN AND DIRECTED BY Ricardo Islas. FEATURING: Janet Bass, Cyn Dulay, Mark Edwards, Leslie Frank, Ruby Gonzalez, Nancy Gonzalez, Ricardo Islas, Marina Muzychenko GENRE: HORROR TAGS: vampire, Countess Bathory, extreme gore, nudity, lesbianism, and pottery PLOT: Two lesbian art professors use Elizabeth Bathory's incantations to transform themselves into two lesbian VAMPIRE art professors. Their plan backfires -sort of. COMMENTS: Innovative, non-CGI makeup and special effects distinguish this fresh, professionally shot, small budget independent. When her ceramics professors Lupe (Dulay) and Jennifer (Frank) lure their unsuspecting pupil, Amy (Ruby Gonzalez), to their home for a "special" instructional session Amy gets more than just an art lesson. Amy's teachers have dug up 17th Century, Hungarian Countess Elizabeth Bathory's (Muzychenko) personal diary. You know who Ms. Bathory was: the slightly eccentric aristocrat who used to rape and sexually torture peasant girls (about 650 of them), then cut their throats, hang them upside down over a bathtub and have herself a royal time bathing and masturbating in their blood. Liz, perhaps history's most prolific serial killer, claimed she thought the blood of virgins would keep her youthful. (Or maybe she was just a little kinky and did it for fun.) Anyway, the two pottery instructors have hatched a harebrained, half-baked "plan" to make themselves immortal by reciting a bit of prose they found in the grand ol' dame's aforementioned journal. They just need a bath of Amy's blood to make it all work. Unfortunately, things don't quite go quite as smoothly as Jennifer and Lube planned. Lupe and Jennifer have a disagreement. It leads to bit of a squabble, which becomes rather physical. Blood is shed. Amy gets some of the blood on her at a strategic moment during the utterance of Countess Bathory's spell, and abracadabra, Amy finds herself suddenly overwhelmed with an instant thirst for, you guessed it, more blood; rich, red, raw, still pumping HUMAN blood! Amy promptly sets about feasting upon the both of her professors. On the bright side, the arty duo indirectly get their wish; they will become vampires by virtue of Amy biting them, sort of like catching a contact high from second hand smoke. Awkwardly though, Amy goes on to bite a lot of additional, unsuspecting people. When Amy's friends become suspicious of her teachers' motives and come over to investigate, their arrival triggers a general melee in which one bite leads to another. The situation quickly cascades out of control, like a set of frothing, red water rapids. Pretty soon everyone is sucking everyone else's blood in this fleshy, corpulent gore fest. In fact, there's more than just sucking; there's some good old fashioned flesh gnawing too, as well as a bevy of steamy lesbian sex. But as the plasma slurping escalates, it becomes up to the history professor, Dr. Nashy (Ilsas), who originally translated Liz Bathory's diary, to save the day.. . . er ah, night. Conveniently, he just so happens to have some very brutal vampire hunting tools at his disposal. With the help of a handful of extra credit-seeking students, Nashy must "liberate" the souls of the undead! But will his unorthodox "methods" prove to be as effective as they are extravagant? Or will the plague of vampirism spread like a widening sanguine pool of sangria, intoxicating with runaway bloodsuck mania all whom it touches, until the entire Los Angeles basin is consumed by it, and every last mortal turns into a sallow cheeked, sunken eyed, nightwalker (thereby becoming indistinguishable from most of the population of North Hollywood)? A US production, Night Fangs is a small budget lesbian vampire movie, shot by a conspicuously Hispanic crew and cast . . . and it's pretty good!! Jaded by a recent influx of low budget lesbian vampire movies and so-so independent Latin films, I wasn't sure what to expect, so I was pleasantly surprised. While Night Fangs is not as lavishly designed or intricately plotted as an epic bloodsucker blockbuster like the elaborately silly and slow, Interview With The Vampire, it's good rollicking fun, and doesn't resort to being sophomoric. The Uruguayan Ricardo Islas has cut his teeth on enough horror movies over the past three decades to be compared in film circles to John Carpenter. In Night Fangs, Islas's simple, innovative special effects, along with his skilled, straightforward camera work and editing, results in an effective, well-acted, professional production with a simple nicely dark visual footprint. With it's preponderance of blood, gore, blood sucking, flesh devouring, lesbian sex and heaving nudity, one might expect Night Fangs to be a deliberately corny, campy presentation. It isn't. Moreover, it's not a teenage flick or a cheap drive-in movie, either. The Night Fangs plot is more or less straightforward, but its story has a fresh feel about it. It's one of the more novel vampire movies that's been produced in awhile. The unexpected, delightfully twisted ending will please fans of the genre. Film snobs may not find Night Fangs to be sufficiently sophisticated for their tastes, and hardened, jaded fright enthusiasts may not think it scary enough. Most horror, vampirism and lesbian vampire cinema fans however, will take it to be a refreshing change of pace and a must see horror movie. For its unpretentious innovation and originality, I give Night Fangs seven pints of blood out of a possible ten.
Trailer: Night Fangs

NIGHT FANGS - trailer

NIGHT FANGS - trailer 2
Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Audience Member I think the guy who wrote the comment that is posted wouldn't know a good horror flick if it bit him on the behind. I loved Night Fangs. And wouldn't you know,it is a low budget film. I thought the actors, setting, and storyline were all very good! I thought the director did a fantastic job with this movie. Adding Elizabeth Bathory into this film also added a touch of history. If you are looking for a movie that is lame, with no gore, or if your looking for something that is a waist of time, then your looking in the wrong place. Night Fangs has everything your looking for in a Vampire movie. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Read all reviews
