Audience Member It's a film that could have been bigger than it ended up being. It had good intentions and plenty of powerful plots, but it misses the mark on some decisions that diminish its potential, leaving it wanting more than enough for this musical to finally make its return to the big screen. Its streaming platform is perfect because it's a perfect film to watch at home without regretting whether you spent your money well or not. It's worth seeing for its lead character, its music, and its style; without setting high expectations, you can simply find a reward in an interesting musical that ends up being poorly executed. Más allá del guión, la trama o el entretenimiento.... Sino desde un enfoque crítico basado en psicología del desarrollo y la identidad de género. Esta película tiene temas contrivertidos que irían desde a) el uso de estética hipnótica y sobreestimulación visual. Los colores fosforescentes, movimientos rápidos y escenas caóticas activan el sistema de recompensa cerebral en niños, creando una dependencia sensorial (similar a lo observado en redes sociales o videojuegos). Esto reduce su capacidad de reflexión crítica y los hace más vulnerables a absorber mensajes de forma pasiva. Subconsciente. Estudios en neurociencia cognitiva señalan que la exposición prolongada a estímulos hiperestimulantes puede afectar la atención sostenida y aumentar la ansiedad en menores . b) Subversión de roles de género como herramienta ideológica. Si bien la flexibilidad de género puede ser un tema positivo, en jóvenes y niños (etapa de desarrollo cognitivo concreto, según Piaget) puede generar confusión. Antes de los 7-10 años, los niños necesitan estructuras claras para entender su identidad. La inversión abrupta de símbolos (velo rojo en el chico, ropa masculinizada en la protagonista) sin contexto narrativo pedagógico puede ser percibida como caos simbólico, lo que deriva en inseguridad emocional. Esto se relaciona con la teoría de Vygotsky sobre el andamiaje cultural necesario para el aprendizaje. c) Normalización de dinámicas adultas ambiguas. La relación entre el hombre en la televisión y la niña sin explicación clara podría activar alertas inconscientes sobre figuras de autoridad ambiguas, un tema delicado en psicología infantil. La falta de resolución narrativa refuerza la desconfianza en su entorno. 2. Impacto psicológico en niños y preadolescentes: riesgos específicos. a) Confusión identitaria prematura En etapas tempranas (3-12 años), los se construye la identidad mediante imitación de roles claros. Cuando estos son deliberadamente difusos (sin una explicación adaptada a su edad), pueden experimentar: Ansiedad por no comprender "qué se espera de ellos y Disonancia cognitiva al internalizar mensajes contradictorios ("¿soy niño o niña si la película muestra que no hay diferencia?"). b) Pérdida de seguridad en las estructuras sociales. Uso de herramientas de control parental: Plataformas está Common Sense ofrece guías sobre contenido. b) Educación mediática temprana Enseñar a cuestionar lo que ven. Preguntas como ¿Por qué crees que el personaje viste así? o ¿Qué mensaje te queda después de ver esto? fomentan pensamiento crítico. Contrarrestar con narrativas claras: Si tú hijo o hija expresa confusión, explicar con ejemplos concretos (Algunas personas eligen su ropa libremente, pero tú puedes decidir). Odessa could have been a cool movie with a completely different composer and style of music. The folky country type songs do not fit the post apocalyptic scifi look of the film. Acting, cinematography, and look are all pretty cool. Just the music ruins it. Oh yeah, and after hugging her llama that she clearly loves… she just opens the pen & leaves it behind too to watch the house burn. I had high hopes for this film, expecting a story about a girl grappling with the loss of her parents and her journey to find closure. Instead, I was met with a chaotic blend of supernatural and sci-fi elements that left me baffled. While Sadie has a fantastic voice, I struggled to follow the narrative or connect with any of the characters, overshadowed by the poorly written songs. It was a challenge to stay engaged, and despite my efforts to stick it out, the overwhelming focus on rock themes overshadowed the emotional depth that the storyline desperately needed. Rather than exploring her grief, we were thrust into a convoluted sci-fi realm, which ultimately diluted any impact the film could have had. In my view, it fell short of what it aimed to achieve.
