Joe Williams St. Louis Post-Dispatch At its best, Oh My God strikes a long-forgotten chord that seems to sing: All you need is love. (And Ringo Starr shows up to underscore the point.) Rated: 3/4 Dec 10, 2009 Full Review Alissa Wilkinson Christianity Today There's nothing new unearthed in this film. The religious adherent won't have their mind changed, and the person who isn't sure what they believe won't find any help here, either. Rated: 1.5/4 Nov 30, 2009 Full Review Walter V. Addiego San Francisco Chronicle Some of the talking heads say entertaining or thoughtful things and some of the locations are quite exotic. But does this justify 98 minutes of screen time? Rated: 2/4 Nov 29, 2009 Full Review Chris Hewitt St. Paul Pioneer Press Oh My God is a documentary in the Michael Moore/essay mold, and by "Michael Moore/essay" I mean "annoying blowhard who will not shut up." Rated: 1/4 Dec 4, 2009 Full Review Avi Offer NYC Movie Guru Provocative, captivating and profoundly illuminating. You'll be talking about it for weeks. Rated: 8.5/10 Nov 14, 2009 Full Review Fr. Chris Carpenter Movie Dearest One reaches the conclusion fairly early in Rodger's gorgeously photographed but obnoxiously quick-cut-edited film that the question "What is God?" has no satisfactory nor universally agreeable answers. Thanayod L Although OMG needs some script alteration, it really gives some fun. The establishment of a special character in around the middle of the story will bring everything to the surprising disclosure. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/22/21 Full Review Audience Member A movie so bad it caused massacre on the Street's of Isla Vista i'm not joking Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/22/23 Full Review Audience Member I want to improve the score Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/15/23 Full Review Audience Member A pretty good movie!!!! Theres only one part i hated and its related to people from the university i studied at... Didnt get that part since they r not experts however i really liked it!!! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Audience Member Not as good as I thought it would be. But, still worth a view. My favorite part was when the interviewer asked a Kabbalist if he believed in the existence of God. He answered "No.". The interviewer said "You don't believe in God?" He said. "Yes. But, I don't believe the word existence applies to God." Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/14/23 Full Review Audience Member Peter Rodger has created a visually compelling documentary as he chronicles his journey around the globe asking people who - or what - they think God is. Although many of the personalities are interesting, and the visuals are striking, the movie does not really amount to much more than eye candy. Rodger does not really plumb any kind of theological depth in his film, preferring rather to allow his interviewees to state and restate platitudes. It might be an interesting film as a conversation starter, but it feels like it probably meant more to Rodger as a personal piece than it works as an investigation of God.
