Dennis Schwartz Dennis Schwartz Movie Reviews The vistas are beautifully photographed, as it's shot around Mount Whitney. That's where the Hopalong Cassidy series filmed. Rated: B- Jul 29, 2013 Full Review Read all reviews

John R Unusually dark western for the time, real syco bandits and Murphy is very dark and relentless Rated 4 out of 5 stars 06/30/24 Full Review Audience Member Audie Murphy in another good one here yes I highly recommend it James Welch, Henderson, Arkansas August 22, 2023 Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 08/22/23 Full Review Audience Member A few western cliches surface in a film that could have delivered more. Murphy:"I'm going on alone." Would not be much of a posse that. All action stops so dying cowboy can deliver brief, final speech. Well performed action sequences, if a little lacking in logic: When bushwacking the bad guys from rocks rifles (which all the posse had) would have a better range than pistols. Too many support cast are given very little depth of character to work with, like they are cannon fodder. They either get shot one by one or head of "back to town" early. Gung ho, tough guy baddies abound, but they also have very thin characters. Overall: standard western, nothing special. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/22/23 Full Review Audience Member 'There is always someone or something worthwhile. We just have to look hard enough'... 4 escaped cons rape and pillage across the old west--better than average Audie Murphy western with more sharply defined characters than usual - plus a good script that brings freshness - and even fun - to the heavily traveled chase 'em plot... Superior B-Western on all levels!! Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Audience Member Whilst I find it difficult to buy Audie Murphy as a ruthless gun for hire, hes just to clean cut, this is still an effective western. Yes there are a number of cliches, the Mexican is clearly untrustworthy because hes a mexican, the military man is clearly out of his depth without the cavalry at his back and the city slicker, played by a young John Saxon, will prove himself on the plains. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/08/23 Full Review Audience Member One of Audie Murphy's more thought-provoking westerns. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Read all reviews
