Audience Member Despite managing to create a fairly atmospheric mystery using only a couple of warm coloured gels for the lighting, this is a mess of a film with a storyline that only comes together in a fathomable sense at the very death and is nowhere near satisfying when it does. I quite enjoyed this but the narrative does ask you to accept a lot without question and then tries to answer its own mysteries at the end only to realise that it's posed too many riddles for any one answer to satisfy. The lo-budget works to the flick's favour for the majority of the running time; the dark, low-lighting is effective and moody, the small cast is intimate, and the sparse effects are appreciated, with more importance being placed on mood and intrigue. Ultimately though, this film's ambition needs more 'weight' at it's punchline, as the climax did feel a bit stale and predictable after the opening enigma, and left me thinking "is that it?" Worth a gander though and an admirable indie effort.
