Out of all the seasons, it seems that this season (season 8) seems to bring such an amazing energy that carries throughout the show. It was the first season to get an actual official soundtrack (other than Roses and Violets by Trocadero, but the only song that really appears in the series is the opening theme from the blood gulch chronicles.) and the first season to have fully fledge animation, which led to some of the most awesome and epic fight scenes. A huge highlight I would say, other than the soundtrack, would be the Tex v. Reds + Blues fight.
We were also gifted the Doc/Meta/Wash antagonist trio, which I live for. It also had the whole “does he eat people?” “do you want to find out?” dialogue X3
Overall, a great season to round up the recreation trilogy and make way for the freelancer saga in season 9 and 10. 👍 not a full 5 stars because season 9 is my favorite season

Revelation concludes the three-season 'Recollection' story, started in the legitimately brilliant 'Reconstruction', and then followed-up with the somewhat entertaining but almost completely pointless 'Recration', a season that opted to perform a fallback to the RvB classic approach, resulting in probably the weakest season apart from S4 (at least of the first 10 that is - I haven't seen beyond that yet). 'Revelation' (this one) isn't as smart or high-concept as 'Reconstruction', however it does, thankfully, follow a similar formula, and tells a solid story, ending this epic on a satisfying note. Like the more serious bits of the series, primarily seasons 6 + 10, there is still a fair amount of comedy, and by and large, the comedy doesn't hold back the dramatic tension all that often, which is good considering that this series is almost entirely known as a comedy series, so the temptation is certainly there; in a sense, giving me what I want is, ultimate, a risk of not giving the general fans what they want. I appreciate this because, with 'Reconstruction', Red vs Blue entered the category of Legitimate Science Fiction (and high quality at that), and on these cylinders, 'Revelation' does operate strongly. It's focused, smart and full of great characters and fast-paced plot-twists. Oh, and yes, it's still funny.

Despite from the ending being rather underwhelming, Revelation is greatly enjoyable. The jokes are lacking, but the story is actually pretty enjoyable.
