      Bradley H It was a cute portrayal except the names of the characters versus their on screen personas were way off balance. Everything was created out of the void of Chaos until Eros descended into the depths of the abyss of Chaos where they mated and out sprung Erebos, the God of Darkness and Nyx, the Goddess of Night. Then came Hemera, the Day and Aether, the Light of the Sky. Without Chaos or Eros, there is nothing but the void of Time. Humans are descending into a rabid race of monsters, and mankind's last hope lies in three young women, descendants of a goddess who each have special powers. They must train and then use their powers to take down the great lord Chaos. The most remarkable part of Reign of Chaos is its storyline. There are also lots of closeup and medium shots with dim lighting to complement the eerie mood. The voice modulation used on Chaos, one part of the special effects in the film, is great; it gives him a Darth Vader-esque voice that's menacing and powerful. The casting of this film is not particularly memorable—perhaps because the roles are not especially memorable—though every actor portrays their character well. Reign of Chaos promotes resourcefulness, leadership, taking action and teamwork. The film contains violence and some profanity; the protagonists are initially a bit hostile to one another, but in the end work together and are great examples to kids watching the film. I give Reign of Chaos 3.5 out of 5 stars and recommend it for ages 12 to 18, plus adults. Reign of Chaos will be available on Digital April 12, 2022. By Eshaan M., KIDS FIRST! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Reign of Chaos sounds like a pretty metal title and when you learn that three women descended from the goddess Nike are battling a dark lord named Chaos (Mark Sears) and all of humanity — who are now rabid — well, that sounds just about right. Producer Scott Jeffrey (Jurassic Island, Exorcist Vengeance), director Rebecca Matthews (Hatched) and writer Tom Jolliffe (Witches of Amityville Academy) have been releasing seemingly a streaming movie every month, but by and large I've enjoyed their films. This one, well… Rhodi (Peter Cosgrove, The Curse of Halloween Jack, Winterskin) must bring together Lindsay (Georgia Wood, The Bad Nun), Nicole (Rebecca Finch, Shadowland) and Alina (Rita Di Tuccio, The Mummy Reborn) to be a fighting force against the forces of the dead who are known as the Joiners. Except, you know, there are still gyms open in the end times. Even Planet Fitness shut down for the pandemic. There are also stores that sell Matrix-style tight-fitting body suits to potential world-saving superheroines. Capitalism must never die. I've seen lots of comments in reviews about the budget of this, but what do you expect? There's an audience for these low spend direct to streaming films and more often than not, it's me. If it's you, you already know what to expect. Just because the world is ending doesn't mean we can't have a training montage.       John Townsend Starburst Ambition is high and quality low in Rebecca Matthews' sci-fi actioner Reign of Chaos, a film that could have been a tight 30-minute short -- perhaps even shorter -- but instead is a flabby concoction of random exposition and awkwardness.
