[Baker's] clownish backfield-in-motion Charleston shimmy is unlike anything else in the movie and perhaps unlike anything else anyone ever did. Go to Full Review

The only reason to see this is the two numbers featuring the kooky, energetic and dazzling Josephine Baker. Go to Full Review

@MilloTPue 12/03/2020 It is historically interesting by the (brief) moments you can see Josephine Baker. Unless you are a fan of the revue format, unnecessary. See more 04/17/2012 This movie was hard to watch. Sure there's a short story interspersed throughout the film, but it's broken up incessantly by dance numbers that take up most of the film's run time, and although they're colorful they're quite boring. I got very bored. If you're looking for a good documentary of 1920s dancing, just watch this movie. If you're looking for a good story, actors, directing, cinematography, etc, look elsewhere.
