Try to see this movie if you can, it is so hard to find. It's not released on DVD yet but there are some copies floating around on the internet. I actually got a great copy of this movie that I bought at a convention a few years back. It's based on the true story of teenage Ricky Kasso aka The Acid King. He got that nick name because he use to drop several hits of acid everyday.
Here's the true story. I'll sum it up for you...
What happened was Ricky Kasso and a few of his friends, who were brainwashed by him, use to worship Satan and held seances at their friends houses. They also made animal sacrifices and they practiced the Satanic Bible. Actually, what's interesting also is that they use to hold seances in the back of the infamous "haunted" Amityville house. No shit.
Next comes the murder of one of Ricky Kasso's own friends. One night at a party when Ricky was passed out sleeping, his friend Gary Lauwers stole 10 bags of angel dust from Ricky's pocket. When Ricky found out what the kid had did, him and his other friends lured Gary into the woods with promises to give him drugs and have a party. After taking several hits of mescaline around the campfire things suddenly spun out of control. Ricky Kasso had threatened to kill Gary if he didn't say "I love Satan" and after Gary was being stabbed repeatedly all he could say was, "No, I love my mother". Ricky had stabbed Gary somewhere around 36 times, burned him on parts of his body and gouged out his eyeballs. After the murder Ricky Kasso and his other friends had bragged about it to people around the town. Eventually Ricky was caught by the police, and while waiting in his jail cell Ricky committed suicide by hanging himself.
One of his other friends also killed himself when he found out how much trouble he was actually in, and Ricky's other close friend was acquitted of second degree murder because of his mental state after doing so many drugs that night.
This movie was awesome. It's very creepy in the real life sense, being that this was all an actual true story. The acting was believable, especially Ricky Kasso played by Vincent Kartheiser, although in this movie the character's name was Ricky Cowen. There's really not that much violence here, but this movie really didn't need it. The subject matter alone was gruesome enough, especially at the end when the young kid gets murdered. I also liked how they showed a bit of a build up as to why Ricky Kasso turned out the way he did. It's like in the beginning you actually feel a little bad for Ricky, knowing that he could have gotten the help that he needed, but no one was really there for him. All that quickly changes a little later on in the film when you find yourself wanting to strangle the hell out of Vincent Kartheiser's character. Anyway, this movie is a must see! Try to find it, perhaps maybe on EBay or something.
Also, look up the real picture of Ricky Kasso. Talk about a creepy looking kid!

great movie based upon the true story of Ricky Kasso, also known as "The Acid King"..hi was only seventeen when hi was involved with satanism and drugs, and before hi took his own life hi stabbed a friend to death..it's dark, sad and scary, the movie really reaches out and grabs you..Vincent Kartheiser is excellent in the role as Ricky..the movie is based upon the book "Say you love Satan"..and if the movie intrigues you, you should check out "Satan in the suburbs-The story behind the movie", it can be difficult to get a hold of, but you can find it on YouTube..

I saw this movie at a convention over 10 years ago and eagerly waited soonafter for its official release... Once I realized that would probably never happen, I found the flick online for a re-watch. Sadly, this is the only way most of you will ever see this gem. Ricky 6 is based on the real life case of Ricky Kasso. The flick could've taken the easy way out and be exploitive/violent. Instead, we're given a very powerful, character-driven story and focuses on the relationship between Ricky and his best friend Tommy. We follow the story mainly between their points-of-view. We feel and experience what they do as we go through the story and they drift further away from society. Needless to say, it's not a pretty adventure. Bravo for the direction it took. Original and daring for a movie like this. The story takes place in the 80's and the sets and cinematography of the flick were very effective in that right. There's no 80's Glam here and kept to a very grounded look from that time. Peter Filardi (at the helm of the picture) added a dreary atmosphere throughout the whole thing (I even felt unnerved even when the kids were having fun or when it was daylight). I must also applaud the man for his stylistic (and convincing) approach to the trips that the kids experience in this flick. From what I've experienced in the past, most of these 'trips' were very realistic. The drug episodes get a bit more extreme with Ricky because of his schizophrenia. They get intense (The 'Jesus' scene was fascinating and terrifying all at once). But, without a doubt, the best aspect of this movie was most definitely the acting. It was certainly the biggest deal-breaker for this one and this flick got an A+ from me in that aspect. Vincent Kartheiser gets one of those rare roles where they cover pretty well every layer an actor can do. Pitiful, funny, intriguing, scary and beyond. Kartheiser did it all and nailed it. Amazing. Chad Christ backs Kartheiser up very well. He also gives a layered performance in terms of going back and forth between 'tough guy' and 'scared kid'. He blended it effortlessly and both actors shared great chemistry with one another. Sabine Singh does great with the little bit she has... all the supporting actors are just as credible and all around excellent. Add to this an awesome 80's rock/metal soundtrack and you get one great character-driven flick. So what's my problem, then? The subplots involving the guys with their girlfriends (Singh & Emmanuelle Chriqui) was underdeveloped and didn't bring anything to the story as a whole. It started off intriguingly enough... but then just dropped out. Why bother? There was also one particular 'drug trip's sequence that involved a monster on a bed that was very fake looking and didn't sit well with the rest of the more intense 'trips'. But in all, this was a thought out, well written and convincing story about the troubles of a misguided youth that went to some dark places. It's not a fun time or a good party movie by any means... but if you dig on sitting down and watching a good horror story (with excellent acting), I highly recommend Ricky 6. Hopefully, this will get a major release on video someday... won't hold my breath...
