DanTheMan 2 Diving deep into the emotional longevity of what grief can inflict on an individual, Missing does not feel like a Tsui Hark film, as it's so far removed from his style. Mixing traditional supernatural beliefs with a psychological character study, Hark spins a tangled, often confusing web that while laudable doesn't quite sustain his ambitions. It instead offers a hodge-podge of genres ranging from psychological ghostly horrors to melodramatic romance, the very idea of the film is exciting but it has too many ingredients that ultimately leave it as a very messy piece of work, often looking hurriedly shot and put together almost as if it was made in a mad rush of a creative spark. It drags its feet to a rather unsatisfactory conclusion of multiple endings, feeling way longer than its advertised 2-hour runtime. Thankfully in the years, Hark's direction has remained steadfast and enjoyable, backed up by a passable score by Ricky Ho, Missing ultimately just misses the mark for me in its attempt to try so much, though the effort involved is commendable, the results are not. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/12/23 Full Review Audience Member Though some of the visual scenes (especially first half of movie) are quite magnificent and frightening, the storyline is quite simple with too many twists. Some details are found unnecessary or contradicted to one another as the movie progress. However, the ending twist is still ok when considering the story limitations for this movie to be entering cinema in China. At least it provides a more innovative twists at the end to explain why there are ghost exists in the first half of the story, though I felt being cheated when watching the ending. It is a good trial, but disappointing. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/19/23 Full Review Audience Member REVIEWING...SIL JONG AS THE MISSING...CANT FIND FILM ON FLIXSTER. A entertaining film which takes you places, a guy captures a woman and keeps her locked up, while sister tries tracking her down. it takes off from this point after first act, so a interesting and unpredictable watch in store, the film works for what its trying to do, and although the ending certainly baffled me(maybe i missed something) it certainly intrigued me Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/20/23 Full Review Audience Member filmnya bagus koq . . . Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Audience Member This movie can't decide what genre to be. It starts off as a suspense/thriller, then turns into a full-on horror flick, then turns into an overly dramatic drama. Granted, the horror part was actually pretty scary. The other parts were just ok. Parts of it didn't make any sense. When you think it's about to end it doesn't. It just keeps going and going. Then when you think it's the actually ending for realz, it STILL keeps going and going. Repeat x 3. Brutal. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
