Critics Consensus

As preposterous and over-the-top as Shoot 'Em Up may be, its humor and non-stop action make for a very enjoyable film.

Jul 23, 2008 Full Review Mike Massie Gone With The Twins Resembles a Wile E. Coyote and Roadrunner episode doused with blood, gore, torture ... and absolutely nothing for kids. Rated: 8/10 Nov 27, 2020 Full Review Ali Gray TheShiznit.co.uk Far from being a spoof on the genre, Shoot 'Em Up is an action movie with the flab removed - with no more than maybe ten minutes of exposition, you're left with a series of interconnecting money shots, each one more gooey than the last. Hunt G On paper I should love this movie but it just misses the mark and I can't adequately explain why, the vulgar stupid irreverence is the kind of thing I love but it's just a little off. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 05/20/25 Full Review Ivar A This is the most nonsensical, weird, bizarre, horribly-acted movie that I've seen; I kept cringing the whole time. Some people try to defend it, but I just think it's for people with very poor taste. Would never recommend my worst enemy to watch this. Painfully boring. The only good thing about the film is Monica Belluci's beauty. How can I give it a quarter of a star? Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 04/06/25 Full Review Korra N Over-the-top and cartoonishly silly, Shoot 'em Up is a pretty wild action movie with some hilarious moments and stupidly fun action sequences. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/02/25 Full Review Lewis M This movie is so ridiculous and over the top that it's actually a great comedy. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 11/14/24 Full Review Dospi A Paul Giammati is the perfect wrong cast for the role, epic performance! Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 09/20/24 Full Review Prabudhjeet A A movie like video game Stranglehold, with Monica Bellucci and Paul Giamati. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 07/02/24 Full Review Read all reviews
