matthias s **Spider-Man Strikes Back (1978) Review - 1.5 Stars** Nicholas Hammond once again acts well as Peter Parker, but he’s undeniably way too old for the role. The movie desperately needed better villains; instead, we get a bizarre plot about an atomic bomb that feels out of place in a Spider-Man story. The plot is too thin for its runtime, and it neither looks nor feels like a comic book movie. Taking beloved characters and shoehorning them into a generic TV movie scenario is a strange choice. The film sorely lacks action, making it drag considerably. Compared to its predecessor, this entry falls flat. The Spider-Man suit is decent at best, and while the acting is okay, there are too many flaws and deviations from the comics. Overall, "Spider-Man Strikes Back" misses the mark and fails to capture the spirit of its source material, leaving even die-hard fans disappointed. Spider-Man strikes back is more interesting and has better fighting scenes and cool car fight outs. Not to mention that Spider-Man's suit in this one is way better. This time, they have a pretty good villain known as Mr white, which I enjoyed for a made up villain. The suspense when Spider-Man defusing the bomb probably was more hype back then, but it's entertaining to watch and I'd say it's good.
