Audience Member Good music and story but less action. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/23/23 Full Review Audience Member When I popped in Sugar Colt I went onto Youtube & watched the trailer to it. I do this w/ a lot of movies I have just because I don't always know what Im getting myself into & sometimes think of myself as an old school film completest watching just about everything either good or bad needing to see everything from a genre gone by I should maybe see what Im getting myself into. The trailer of Sugar Colt sorta made this seem sorta pussy in the spaghetti western genre (which is one that I love for it's badassness) but I pushed on. Surprisingly it was actually good & after all was said & done Hunt Powers stands well on his own in the genre. Not among the greats (Lee Van Cleef would have his balls for breakfast) but for lazy afternoon viewing it could have been a lot worse. Palatable pasta w/out a lot of zip but still gets you full Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Audience Member Highly uneven, with a lot of alternately light fun and then heavily dramatic moments - just like the Bacalov score and Betts' performance. It was cool to see the beautiful Miranda in this context, and an early cameo from Mara Krup is hilarious. She's most likely recalled as the lascivious wife to a cuckolded and diminutive innkeeper in For a Few Dollars More from the previous year. Here, she is briefly seen among a throng of enthusiastic women that Sugar Colt is training to shoot, their ultimate targets amusingly hinted at. I won't give the plot in detail, but the promise of a light adventure quickly turns to a mission of revenge. Which, then again becomes goofy and casual in pace - you get the idea. By the time Sugar Colt has taken to announcing himself and his intents, it's hard to feel much anticipation. The premise and setup are not without interest, but nothing quite played out in any satisfactory manner. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/26/23 Full Review Audience Member Fun western! Not brilliant!
