The CGI and sound quality was also very poorly done. I know this was not a top budget movie but still they could have put in a little more effort then what they did. I will say the beginning toward the middle of this film was not as bad as the ending. The ending is where all things really start crashing down for this film. Also another major issue with the film is the chemistry between our 2 leads is very weak here. Survive is certainly a movie that was made for straight to DVD. While the visuals were quite stunning, and the acting was good, but significantly melodramatic; the writing and directing was absolutely baffling. It may have made more sense when it was a 12 part mini-series but the idea of sitting through 12 hours when I was already bored out of my mind by a 2 hour movie was simply torturous. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 11/16/23 Full Review John S One one hand, the overall story was good and I came to empathize with the characters. On the other hand, to appreciate the story and characters requires the viewer to ignore the absolutely ridiculous setup (plane crash on top of a level spot on a "mountain" in Montana from which Jane and Paul must climb down, even though there was no storm or other reason why searchers wouldn't have found the plane within hours). The "climb down" was even more ridiculous, starting with ... nice climbing boots that just happened to fit both of them, followed by "climbing down" a vertical cliff without proper gear. In fact, most of the "climb down" was ridiculous and unbelievable. Still, overall a tolerable and somewhat memorable movie. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 11/16/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
