Frank Scheck Hollywood Reporter Too derivative for its own good. May 14, 2020 Full Review Michele "Izzy" Galgana ScreenAnarchy The issue with Terminus is that it strives for a very ambitious place in the universe but lacks what it takes to get there. May 14, 2020 Full Review Mark Demetrius FILMINK (Australia) Terminus is slow moving and often underlit - presumably in the interests of ambience, but the murkiness gets monotonous and the creepy soundtrack music does little to alleviate the torpor. Jan 14, 2016 Full Review Oliver Pfeiffer SciFiNow Go in with mild expectations and great nostalgia for old school science fiction cinema and you won't be disappointed with Terminus. Audience Member I read all the negative reviews and I get it. Its not the greatest movie ever. I have a short attention span and a lot of slow moving films lose my interest quickly. Terminus is slow moving and a little drawn out, but there is just enough going on to keep your curiosity going. Don't expect an overly exciting scifi flick, just go into it expecting to be entertained. I think it was worth the watch and was not left dissapointed at the end. Overall, I would recommend this if you've seen all the blockbusters and are just looking for something different. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/20/23 Full Review Audience Member If the daughter of the protagonist wasn't in the movie it would have been 1,000% better film. She ruined the film for me, emotional scenes were all given to her and she couldn't sell it. I may have given this one a 4 if it wasn't for her. There were far too many coincidences for motivations etc. I'm all for moody films and thought the cinematography was great. I felt the war aspect of the story was vague/unnecessary and the news exposition trope was overused. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/11/23 Full Review Audience Member Odd one. At a time when overpopulation and war dominated the earth, an alien pod comes down to earth, with the ability to grow new limbs and organs. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 09/16/18 Full Review jeff w Great Indy sci-fi drama... While I was watching it, I kept thinking to myself, 'something is going to destroy this movie'. Like most Indies, bad acting and low budget stop 'em dead. But to my surprise this gem finished without a flaw. Lots of character development, good guys vs bad guys, great end of the world story, I loved it. Seen on Netflix...Best viewed by sci-fi fans. WARNING not a 'chick flick'... Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member A smaller budget more intimate grittier play on the contact salvation from apocalypse theme. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review joe m Better than average alien-falls-from-space flick. Slow build up to pretty gripping and well done ending. Worth watching.
