Roger Ebert Chicago Sun-Times Those who see it are not likely to forget it, and its images will linger as a warning of post-apocalyptic urban critical mass. Rated: 3/4 Jan 1, 2000 Full Review Anton Bitel Eye for Film an almost conventional Oedipal storyline - but Tsukamoto's preoccupations with meta(l)morphosis, body horror and unchecked masculinity remain firmly in place, as does the writer/director's way with outrageous images and ideas. Daniel C. M Much better than the first, and definitly the one i would rather pick to watch when available, it actually has a storyline unlike the first, and it's very good. The pratical effects are just as amazing as the first and never lets it down. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/09/24 Full Review Becca S A sequel that isn't quite as amazing or iconic as its predecessor, but it brings some interesting new concepts to the series that keeps it fresh Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/06/23 Full Review Audience Member Superior to the original in many ways IMO, though it doesn't have such great no-budget visuals. The narrative is MUCH easier to follow in Tsukamoto's second go at the cyberpunk story. It's also a little more clear that he's having a dig at a bunch of techno-fascists he sees as present in Japanese society. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/16/23 Full Review Audience Member 3.2/5 Tetstuo II has a lot of themes that combine very well into the insanity that ensues, but the production and the final package as a whole leaves a lot to be desired in comparison to the insane experience the original offered. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Audience Member ZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/26/23 Full Review Audience Member I'd much rather watch the 89 classic!
