      Audience Member Goofy fun "cabin in the woods" style horror. The cast and crew almost play it kind of straight but definitely don't take it too seriously, either. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Audience Member The Slaughter (Jay Lee, 2006) Jay Lee followed up The Slaughter, his anemic sophomore (and sophomoric) effort, with Zombie Strippers! in 2008. Since many, many more people have seen that one, I think it rates as a good comparison; if you found that movie groanworthy, you're going to hate this. Lee takes the usual tack towards making a horror-comedy-slap a bunch of stereotyped characters together and give them something aimed at killing them all off. Which often works, if you're going to do something interesting and creative with the stereotypes, interesting and creative with the killer, or interesting and creative with the murders. Not much of any of the three here, though I have to admit the comic timing actually started working in about the final fifteen minutes of the movie. Until then, the only excuse to keep watching it is that the cast is chock full of drop dead gorgeous ladies who seem to be allergic to clothing. The acting in this film is about the only horrifying thing about this movie. Truly not worth the bother. This is definitely a B-movie, and a good one, too. The story was actually good, and some scenes are somehow scary. Really bad, but I still liked it.
