Paulo R Filme muito fraco. Um total disperdicio de tempo. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 09/15/23 Full Review Ted B 3.5 stars; Probably should be a 3 star rating. But watching a 10 year old 'Indiana Jones' style movie, that doesn't rely on special effects and clever gags to get you through to the end, was quite enjoyable. I guess this was supposed to be a Series that never got off the ground. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 07/20/23 Full Review Leticia R It has a fantastic notable cast, it's an epic movie combination of Sherlock Holmes and Indiana Jones of the Victorian age. The story stimulates the mind combined with nonstop action. It's An adventurous story of protection of mysterious and ancient artifacts with supernatural powers versus the Intellectual villan stealing artifacts for world domination that never gets old. The cinematography is gorgeous like the Sherlock Holmes w/ Robert Downey, and the Pirates of the Caribbean) It's a fun, intriguing, scary, historical supernatural adventure. It touches the harsh work life catering to the wealthy of that age. Sam Neil a famous long career Australian actor never disappoints with his performances who plays a very convincing polished, verile, evil Villan..(like Moriarty in Sherlock Holmes) and Neil's oh so unique voice. Michael Sheehan top British actor Plays the entertaining guardian Bureau of antiquities /Indiana Jones character in British polished style. Refreshing new excellent British handsome young actors where the elder son's character plays a polished, educated in arts and self defense reflecting the intellect and sleuth like mindedness of his archeologist parents with both masculinity, humility and compassion towards the working class of that age as he has to become one to locate his young brother abducted and parents. and would have been a worldwide box office hit and sequels if it had the same Advertising and promotion of Pirates of the Carribean, The Mummy and Sherlock Holmes. Anyone who is a lover of ancient history, Pride and Predjudice novels, Sherlock homes, British Masterpiece Period films this is a must watch film!. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/29/23 Full Review Frank D It was fun. A classic adventure movie in the vein of films like, The Rocketeer. I hope to see the remaining books turned to the screen with this cast. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/16/23 Full Review Serge L Terrible story with lots of production money. Very adventurous simili-indiana Jones story but with much less sense. Really pushing the suspension of disbelief to children limits. TV movie for small kids that I would not even recommend for them. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 12/13/21 Full Review Audience Member I found the movie to be charming, is it a bit cheesy? Of course! But it has an easy to follow plot, a fabulous cast, and a great plot twist at the end in extended scenes! Also very family friendly! Bruce Ingram Chicago Sun-Times There simply isn't a whole lot of excitement being generated in this lackluster family adventure, though it tries oh so very hard. Rated: 2/4 Jan 17, 2014 Full Review Glenn Kenny RogerEbert.com Meh and double meh on this movie. Rated: 2/4 Jan 10, 2014 Full Review Dennis Harvey Variety The quest for the Midas Box never seems like more than a poor man's plot-engine substitute for Tolkien's One Ring. Jan 9, 2014 Full Review Abbie Bernstein Assignment X The Adventurer: The Curse of the Midas Box is an example of what happens when the filmmakers are less than scrupulous with the story's connective tissue and don't display affinity for the characters. Rated: C+ Jan 17, 2019 Full Review Mae Abdulbaki Punch Drunk Critics Forgettable and flat, the film tries and fails at being an adventure that the entire family can enjoy. Rated: 2/5 Aug 14, 2018 Full Review Jared Mobarak The Film Stage As a Part One it effectively disseminates exposition with enough adventure to keep our attention on these characters coming into their own.
