Bill F. @Boombastic69 10h I suppose the acting is ok, because I truly did dislike these characters by the end of the film. This movie continues the same architecture that most suspense/horror movies follows. For instance, good guy grabs gun and shoots bad guy in leg. Then stands there in victory and drops their only weapon, purposefully. Turns and walks away in slow motion as bad guy grab said weapon and takes out the good guy. Biggest pet peeve in just about any movie. This type of infuriating situation happens in almost every conflict scene in this film. It’s like “come on man”. Can’t the good guy have the slightest bit of self preservation in any modern movie? Overall fun to watch but still replaying tired overused good guy themes. Technically good, not great with decent acting and dialogue, solid editing and pacing, pretty good SFX but VFX could use some work and some of the action was a little bad. The score was good though. Story was actually interesting at first with characters seemingly acting rationally and making good choices, until that lobby scene. I also thought the ending was a bit stupid and felt like it went for a dive off a cliff. The experience was fine overall. It's not bad but it's not great either, middle of the road experience wise but the story going off and the technical side being lackluster, yeah, can't go much higher than this See more Oz S @Ozsoffy Nov 24 The movie sets up a familiar survival scenario, the kind I normally enjoy, but this time it never reaches its potential. The tension feels uneven, and the story becomes predictable very early. You can spot the main character from the very first shot, which weakens the sense of uncertainty the genre usually relies on. The overall execution feels a bit too straightforward, without the clever twists that could have elevated it. There are still a few small highlights. The use of latino music adds a fun touch and gives some scenes a bit of personality, but it’s not enough to carry the film. In the end it comes off as flat and not especially engaging. I liked the idea of the company being created and the little touches like 'bringing the world together' in the background as well as the creator of the game wanting to analyse human behaviour. I always think the characters that end up surviving can be a little predictable though. I knocked a point off because the ending ruined it a little for me as I found it a little unrealistic that the character would be able to put the explosives on the security guards whilst being held up by two of them and the fact that he killed that many people in succession whilst avoiding his name. It would have been cool if he accidentally killed himself or something in the rush, just for spontaneity's sake. See more George M @Milkyway Oct 24 Absolute waste of time.
