Jithin K Honestly, I don't know how exactly to feel about this cheap TV movie about Brittany Murphy. She was a beautiful, charming actress who I've loved in everything I have seen her in. Her role in Clueless, and the makeover part felt like just a stereotype of that time when the girl was actually pretty even before the makeover. But this movie shows how she wasn't considered "Hollywood" glamorous and how much that affected her. Beyond her films and the knowledge of her untimely death, I don't know much about her life, so that kept me interested in this movie. But the movie continuously tries to paint things in a ridiculous light, I have no idea what they want to tell. Things like the paparazzi twisting narratives and how opportunities are lost due to bad circumstances are good enough to create a compelling narrative but the film is very weird in the way it presents it. The acting is atrocious across the board and that doesn't help when the plot tries to be grey, so we can't really trust anything in it. The film almost feels like an insult to Brittany's memory, the way it portrayed different decision-making in her life. So many things are not touched upon and glossed over, that a lot of things doesn't make too much sense. I'm only giving this rating because it is somewhat of a true story but at the same time, should I give the lesser rating which I would've given it if it wasn't a true story because of how badly it affects that person's legacy? Rated 2 out of 5 stars 05/21/24 Full Review Tabitha B Just terrible. There just wasn't enough drama in her life to make a 2-hour movie about her. I really enjoyed Brittany Murphy's films but this movie didn't need to be made. She dies at the VERY end of the movie and the whole "controversy" about it is summed up in 20 seconds of on screen text. Poorly made film, poorly cast film, poor film. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 11/11/23 Full Review Audience Member The movie's content was very interested. But! The actress who played like Brittany was horrible! She does not look like Brittany, is not slim and I didnt find even one her expression! Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/15/23 Full Review Audience Member This is possibly the worst movie I've ever seen, and I've watched Sharknado, Death Clique & The Pregnancy Pact. The actress didn't look like Brittany and was a bad actor, the movie felt half assed & flowed like half set cement. Her husband was portrayed like a good & (halfway) decent looking guy when he wasn't. The wigs they used looked like something a hooker wore to death and threw it out in the trashy motels dumpster. The writing was absolutely horrendous and the opening was some of the worst acted, written, directed & produced shit I've ever seen Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/03/23 Full Review Audience Member Truly atrocious. Could they seriously not find a single actress who looks like her? Hammy acting and fast forwarding past most of her career do nothing to help. The only decent one cast was the guy playing Ashton Kutcher. And seriously, when was Brittany ever fat?? Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Audience Member What a weird tv movie topic as Murphy was exactly a massive name but she did die in an odd circumstance. Its gloriously cheap and OTT and I for one liked it a lot Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Read all reviews
