Progetto fallito totalmente. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 03/06/23 Full Review Dweebs Y The epitome of squandered potential; The Bunker Game. Marketed (to me) as a death game type movie (saw, cube, squid game etc) I was hyped for the setup: a LARP troupe running an alternate-history LARPing "experience" where people can come LARP as Nazis living together in an underground concrete bunker (hey a bunker full of nazi LARPing french people? Let the death games begin!) Fast forward through about the half point of the movie, where something is wrong with the electrical equipment in the bunker (oh yes finally let's get going). So the people running the experience have to evacuate the players (oh goody let's go) and so they do. They evacuate them safely. (Oh.....) The people running the show stays behind to clean up and reset. (Okay.. maybe now something will happen) One of them is missing (!!!!) but apparently he is a rogue character from before so they are not surprised that he staged all this just to have a big epic LARP finale insider joke for just the organizers. So they start looking for the lil' trickster and run into his big finale! The Americans (mannequins) have invaded the bunker! And defeated the Nazis (Oh, mein Gott!) But they still cannot find ol' funbags. They split up to look for him and start accidentally killing themselves. In terribly dumb accidents (not in the fun Tucker and Dale way) There is no evil bourgeoisie playing a death game. There is nothing, except now a ghost. But the ghost doesn't kill anyone. Except that one guy who was *actually* a Nazi irl, or the ghost doesn't kill him but slowly and very undramatically pull him backwards at an angle into the dark. Then he gets teleported into a tiny cramped room, which is also supposed to be very dark so the camera is in night vision. Except it's not in night vision, they just put a green layer over the footage and blended it and put some grain on it. So he gets so scared, he scares himself to death (implied, off-camera). Now there is 20 minutes left and 3 characters. The main girl, the jokester (still MIA) and a third guy which knows the main girl irl. So let's do the alt-timeline with the ghost that's been very unsubtly in the background at times (and foreground a bunch of times). The ghost is a French girl from the past (duh) that got pregnant with one of the handsome young Nazi occupants of that era, (you know the one). (Oof running out of runtime here, guys) okay so the ghost girl (when she was alive) was forced to sing for the Nazis in a sequence that overstays it's welcome and then some (even tho the singer kills it). And then someone invades their little Nazi house and shoots everyone. So the ghost girl now haunts the tunnel. And remember; the organizers run LARP sessions here all the time, but there was never any ghosts to talk about before now. So they finally find the funnyman, STRANGLED! (Merde!) Main girl is pregnant with funny man's baby, so when she finds him she is sad. Then third man (irl friend) comes and says "yes I killed him, he is stupid! And I'm cool and love you more!" Girl says "Omg how could u?" and she stabs third man with glass shard. He dies. AND THEN... Ghost girl possesses main girl, then leaves the locked bunker. The door wasn't locked because someone is playing survival death games. The ghost locked the door. And only one person actually got killed, the other ones killed themselves in accidents. Credits. Despite some actual (but very infrequent) competent cinematography, this movie bumbles it's way through missed opportunities, terrible acting and directing and made me make a RT account just so I feel the time I spent watching this fucking piece of shit all the way through wasn't a complete waste of my life. If you made it this far I just saved you 91 minutes (minus your read time of this review ofc) and even just reading this as I'm typing it's infinitely better than The Bunker Game You're welcome. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review Obo_25 Honestly when it started, it wasn't that bad. I haven't watched this kind of movie around LARS before so I was kind of confused but got the understanding of it quickly ( which is good for people ignorant of such interest like me - don't want to waste time trying to understand it through out the whole movie after all) . The costume was nice, the concept wasn't that bad. The actors and actresses intrigued me more than the story itself later on so props to them 👏. Which meant that the plot of the story fails to entertain the viewers. The suspense wasn't that bad in the beginning but throughout it all it felt like the movie was not being clear of its intention. It lacked quite a few things I would say but what I felt like what could've made it more worthwhile is the quality of the story itself. The ending felt predictable of course but predictably doesn't make a movie a bad one, some people are actually into it. But it's how it was done that's more important, the focus should've been made more clear, it felt rushed and uncertain. I know it's probably not a high budget of a movie but it was just a shame that though it had potential it did not meet the expected requirements. And that with what they have they could've still made quite a decent movie. The camera positioning which probably had to do with the director as well, was rather better than I'd expected, it felt a higher quality than you'd expect (definitely a potential there). I do feel like for a movie that's not well known in terms of promotion ( I believe) it wasn't that bad, especially when compared to the others who mainly loses focus and turn comedic in the process this stuck with it's thriller horror genre. My rating was probably quite strict but judging from other people's ratings being lower I'd say I was generous as honestly good quality movies in the movie industry has been deteriorating and I say this instead of declining cause it's not like the actors, customer, props or camera quality had been declining but the story itself and how the director ends in leading the story overall. With more polishing they could've probably been sort of like a lowkey gem where if your lucky you found it, your lucky. But for me this isn't quite there yet. Anyway I would keep an eye out for the actors and actresses and some of the people who worked on this movies creations. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/16/23 Full Review Audience Member Overall, while I love the concept of this film and enjoyed the dark, creepy visuals set design, as a horror, it doesn't manage to deliver the scares or bring an exciting story to life.  It's also insanely slow. It's a long wait for any real plot development, or character kills to occur.  One major character and a mysterious plot outline attempt to carry the film, but sadly, it isn't enough to win horror fans.  Surrounding characters are uninteresting, and the plot, for the most part, is dull, like watching fresh paint dry.  It's a truly great concept, and I wish the end results were more epic and memorable. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/11/23 Full Review Frederik S Watched it in a „sneak Peek" Saw the movie in German, but the dubbing aside the whole movie was so trashy and had no sensible plot at all. It played into every thriller cliché there is from shitty jumpscares to „scary" violin music. It felt very stretched out, some shots seemed to only be there to prolong the playtime of the movie and were completely unnecessary to storytelling or tension building. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 11/14/22 Full Review Audience Member reason for such low score? not one thing I can say that was good about the movie outside of acting being average. extremely boring movie that builds up to a horrible pay off. nothing gets explained. not scary, creepy, or suspenseful. for the most part none of the characters are likeable. I highly recommend avoiding. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 06/06/22 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
