Randy N Nonsense. There was no evidence presented so there was no "case for heaven" convincingly portrayed. Pure theological nonsense. And, I'm a very serious believer but more than anything, I believe in truth and this story contained little if any. I don't recommend it at all because I think it does more damage than good. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/26/22 Full Review Audience Member The question "what happens after we die?" is what begins the journey down the rabbit hole. After looking at why people are afraid to die, the movie looks at what we do to "live forever" or leave a legacy, and how we know there is something after this life. From interviews that feel like two friends having a conversation to recounting stories of near-death experiences, witnesses offer testimony to support the case for heaven. I already had my answer to the Case for Heaven, but that doesn't mean the movie was boring in an "I already know the ending" kind of way. The use of such a variety of witnesses makes this quite a thought-provoking movie. Each person has their own testimony - and they aren't all saying the same thing. The movie is made even more enjoyable to watch because of how beautiful it is. It is very well done, the various locations, the buildings (gorgeous churches, cemeteries), the music, etc. come together to create a movie that is a delight for the senses. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/20/23 Full Review Audience Member I would recommend this awe-inspiring documentary about Heaven, hell, and what happens when we die. I liked hearing of Lee Strobel's personal story about his near-death experience. The doctors told him, "You're one step away from a coma, two steps away from dying." He was diagnosed with hyponatremia. I liked how he spend most of the film exploring death and what we can learn from others who experienced near death experiences. I liked hearing about some of their experiences and it makes you wonder what Heaven will really be like. I liked how the film shared insights from Luis Palau, Francis Chan, a few scientists, and everyday people. Some of them even became believers. One of my favorite interviews presented in this film was the original lead singer of Hawk Nelson, Jonathan Steingard. He was in the band for about 16 years. It was interesting hearing how he chose to give up on God. He wrote many of the Hawk Nelson songs and to see him fall away from his faith was heartbreaking. I was honestly surprised to hear why he decided to post why he stopped believing in God. The post doesn't appear online any longer. He also shared his thoughts on the reality of hell and death. I will admit I didn't really listen to a lot of Hawk Nelson growing up and I have only heard a few songs on the radio. But the ones I have heard I'm surprised how he just stopped believing especially when he so wrote some of the lyrics. I loved this documentary and it will be very eye opening and it helped encouraged you to hold fast to your faith until you get to the other side. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Audience Member So disappointing. I left unconvinced and bored, and I was a captive audience and a believer. Such a waste of time and money Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Audience Member Loved it, my mom's a christian and she's always asking me to go with her to watch all kinds of 'christian films' her church promotes, this one was really different tho and I truly appreciated the artistic value of it – loved the music and I actually came here to search for whoever the guy singing in his piano was. Now about the movie... I truly liked it, It's not extremely preachy, nor tries super hard to prove the point that christians are right and the rest of us are wrong, it actually gives space to doubt and one of my favorite parts was the ex-christian guy. Ultimately it still delivers that same 'christian' message but this time it actually got me thinking and questioning some stuff about my own spiritual life, but then I see all the negative reviews from CHRISTIANS? that blew my mind! that's why I'm rating 5 stars. I would rate it 3.5 under normal circumstances, but just thought that the rating was kinda unfair. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/22/23 Full Review Read all reviews
