On the morning of 20 January 1942, in a villa on the lakefront of the Wannsee in Berlin, leading members of the Nazi regime came together. They had been invited by Reinhard Heydrich to a meeting followed by breakfast; The sole topic on the agenda that morning was what the Nazis called the Final Solution to the Jewish Question: the organization of the systematic mass murder of millions of Jews across Europe.

David Stratton The Australian The film is riveting in its depiction of the banality of evil. Rated: 4/5 Aug 15, 2022 Full Review Paul Byrnes Sydney Morning Herald The effect is beyond chilling. It’s not an easy film, what with a large cast of participants and wall-to-wall German dialogue, but it is an important one if you want to understand how this thing happened. Rated: 4/5 Aug 11, 2022 Full Review CJ Sheu Review Film Review The film is a tad boring, intentionally so. Jun 21, 2023 Full Review Alejandro Lingenti La Nación (Argentina) ... Uncannily transmits the surprising coldness with which Nazism decided on its policies of extermination. [Full review in Spanish] Rated: 3/5 Sep 15, 2022 Full Review Ezequiel Boetti Otroscines.com ... Eschewing the use of archival footage, the film avoids falling into commonplace territory. The mere articulation of the agenda is sufficiently terrifying. Desert G an important movie, portraying one of the most-evil gatherings in history. the acting is first-rate and the dialog is haunting. its effect is to realize the loathsome nature of the nazi functionaries and the depths of the human condition. branagh displayed courage and decency here. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/14/24 Full Review Christopher L A commentary on the consequences of extremism (in this particular case: environmentalism vs capitalism). So appropriate for our time. Will resonate well with anyone wise enough to have the ability to step outside of echo chambers. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/24/24 Full Review Lasse L I thought the accurate storytelling method would mean that the film would lack tension and progression but I was pleasantly surprised. Even arguments with relatively little disagreement become morbidly fascinating given the source material. The last section especially is haunting. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/20/24 Full Review Bassem I thought the movie bas boring at first but the last 3 minutes are the 3 minutes in movie history. Hats off to the director Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/11/23 Full Review Wayne M The Conference is an unsettling portrayal of evil, a compelling drama about momentous events that still resonate heavily decades later. In January, 1942 high ranking members of the German Reich meet by Wansee Lake to determine plans for the Final Solution. That is, their plans to extinguish the Jewish people. At this point Germany controlled much of Europe and had systematically been killing Jews. But they wanted to speed up the process of their horrific ambitions. SS, Gestapo and government officials meet to nail down plans. There is disagreement but essentially they all have the same end goals. This is a dialogue heavy film that takes place in one setting but never feels static. It's acted without fanfare but with exactitude. A film about momentous events is matched superbly by its execution. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/19/22 Full Review Read all reviews
