Keith Garlington Keith & the Movies Things really fall off once Sconce tries to rev up the action in the final 15 minutes or so. The framing of the shots, the weird use of slow-motion, the jarring way it clashes with the rest of the movie. Nothing about the the “big” ending feels authentic Rated: 2/5 Aug 16, 2022 Full Review Brian Costello Common Sense Media This story of the bond that forms between a broken man living off the grid in the mountains and a young girl running away from an abusive household is unfortunately marred by plot holes and lapses in story logic. Rated: 2/5 Mar 21, 2022 Full Review Nathaniel Muir AIPT Strong performances from the two leads and a heartwarming premise. The movie becomes disjointed at times and has a tendency to become formulaic. Mar 11, 2022 Full Review Read all reviews

Nathan M There are some flaws in the story and I'm not sure ending was well thought out. There are a little bit of ABC after school special vibes here, but I think the reception of this movie by the audience will partly depend on what the viewer brings to the table. If they can identify with the redemption theme, it will be very meaningful and impactful to them. If not, this might be a slow boring indy film Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 10/14/24 Full Review John A "THE GIRL ON THE MOUNTAIN is an intense thriller..." ...is false. It was a slow, plodding drama that could have only been made slower by making the movie longer. Decent premise, and the girl was a good actress, but there was little to give one a feeling of empathy for the main character. It is a drama about two people bonding. I have no idea where RT got "Mystery" and "Thriller" from in categorizing this. I made it an hour and ten minutes in before I just complete gave up on it. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 09/13/24 Full Review Jeffrey P A dramatic undertaking that is wrought with guilt and despair as it collapses inward upon itself early and often amidst convenient plot development. It’s basically just a story of bonding between two emotionally damaged characters, with painfully ignorant and shallow buffoons hot on their trail that beg only one question when addressing the main villain: 'What’s this guy's problem?' Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 09/08/24 Full Review adam h You can't get your time or money back. so don't waste iit on this, Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 08/31/24 Full Review Jason S I don't even know where to start here. This movie had SO MUCH POTENTIAL but right out of the gate gets stupid. Whether it be the constant repetitive use of B-Stock, to the fact that the writer/director clearly didn't know the first thing about firearms or fishing or hunting or hiking to the badly acted lines to the caricature bad guys who magically are able to track the protagonists in the forest AT NIGHT. The flashbacks are useful but annoying, and when you finally learn how the main protagonist's daughter dies, the scene is laughably unbelievable. Some cheesy movies are funny because of their cheesyness....The Girl On The Mountain never achieves this. I watched this for free on Prime, but I'm still left feeling like Matt Sconce owes me my movie ticket money back. I hope some day an actual writer and director picks this up and re-does it because like I said it has huge potential, but Matt Sconce misses that potential so frequently and so badly that it's almost like he did it intentionally. Oof. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 08/31/24 Full Review Ashes R This movie is a total cheesefest but I like it anyway. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 08/17/24 Full Review Read all reviews
