Frank Scheck Hollywood Reporter The sort of quirky, insiderish L.A. dramedy that tries but fails to make us care about its troubled young characters who are, you guessed it, looking for happiness. Mar 19, 2018 Full Review Nick Schager Variety "The Happys" is a film about self-definition that itself doesn't know what it wants to be - a situation that renders directors Tom Gould and Jon Serpe's indie effort a tonally confused slog. Audience Member A sensitive and insightful move telling the story of the struggles of young people finding their way in a beautifully portrayed local community. A heart warming story with great acting and cinematography that will enthrall. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/23/23 Full Review Audience Member The trailers for this film and a “Lady Bird” vibe for me so I wanted to see it. Boy am I glad I did. Although I was not as much into the film early on, as it progressed I found myself caring a great deal for these characters. It was great seeing Janeane Garofalo in a supporting role. The young leads were great. I would love to revisit these characters in ten years to see how their lives are progressing. I highly recommend this independent film! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/20/18 Full Review Audience Member I absolutely loved this movie!! John Serpe and Tom Gould are creative geniuses! The storyline was surprisingly refreshing. As a Wisconsin girl, I enjoyed the Wisconsin references (as well as some of the Kenosha, W,I references). This movie is definitely worth seeing!!
