Anton N I loved the premise. In fact, the best parts of The Last Seven were those that reminded me of The Quiet Earth. Sadly, however, The Last Seven does not execute beautifully like The Quiet Earth did. If you haven't seen The Quiet Earth, you really should. Thoroughly entertaining, start to finish. As for The Last Seven, it was ruined by editing. We had a reasonably coherent narrative, of these survivors of some apocalyptic event; and we get to explore the new state of London with them. The problem is this movie has more flashbacks than a Vietnam Vet on acid. It was hard to follow along, and also difficult to separate which time period we are in at any given time. In the end, if there was a resolution, I couldn't find it. We never discover what caused the event, and we never know what will become of our main characters. Maybe I'm dense and I just don't understand; but I rarely have that problem with movies that are well-made. If you watch this movie, I recommend giving it the 30 minute test. If it doesn't make sense to you, it probably never will, and you should immediately just watch The Quiet Earth instead. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 11/29/23 Full Review Jon P One of the worst films ever made. Incoherent plot, ham acting, INCREDIBLY ANNOYING repetition of scenes. Wish I'd headbutted a wall for 86 mins instead Rated 1 out of 5 stars 08/27/22 Full Review Audience Member Terrible one of the worst films I have seen Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/18/23 Full Review Audience Member smh... redbox freecode Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/15/23 Full Review matthew b Football Factory and Dead Man Running co-stars Tamer Hassan and Danny Dyer reunite once more for this apocalyptic thriller set in London. A man awakes to find the streets eerily silent and all trace of life completely removed. This movie lacks on characters and story. the movie is boring to watch and why is Danny Dyer picking terrible movie like this. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Carl W Head scratchingly weird. It's just like every other "everyone's vanished" type movies only more confusing until the end. Charlotte O'Sullivan London Evening Standard Here's a pretentious, clich-ridden, London-set thriller notable for absolutely nothing. Rated: 1/5 Sep 1, 2010 Full Review Peter Bradshaw Guardian All this could have made an interesting film, but the dialogue and direction are just so agonisingly laboured. Rated: 1/5 Aug 26, 2010 Full Review Tim Robey Daily Telegraph (UK) As low on scares as it is on sense, good acting, musical numbers or other recognisable merits. Rated: 1/5 Aug 26, 2010 Full Review Neil Smith Total Film Director Imran Naqvi evokes the requisite air of dread but is let down by an ending that neither surprises nor satisfies. Rated: 2/5 Sep 1, 2010 Full Review Matthew Turner ViewLondon Predictable British thriller with a lacklustre script, poor direction and atrocious performances, though it does at least deserve points for its deserted London scenes. Rated: 1/5 Aug 28, 2010 Full Review Trevor Johnston Radio Times It's all so dreary you'll wonder why they bothered. Rated: 1/5 Aug 27, 2010 Full Review Read all reviews
