Audience Member Netflix streaming has a category 'gritty thrillers', and this one certainly fits in. I no nothing of Brooklyn underground, but this certainly has an authentic feel for me, with believably brutal characters. Cinematography and soundtrack round out a vision of a sparse, grim, pulse-quickening world. Watch out. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Audience Member Easily one of the best action films I have seen in years. Appears to be hate it or love it type of movie. Some reviewers have given this flick, in my opinion, an unjustifiably low rating. This is in your face reality, violence, Brooklyn unsugerred thriller. Not something suitable for general audience that seeks their action thrills in movies like the Avengers, Spider-man or the Expendables, but if you are into low budget art films that rely more on acting and plot, this could be a great source of entertainment for you. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/26/23 Full Review Audience Member A gritty, under acted, slight let down. It's a good movie and had a decent plot but with a plot line it had, felt like there should of been more action. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Combines the grittiness of a Euro-Independent film with just enough of the American obsession with story. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Dan Eberle plays the good guy having to do bad things to survive. You cannot help but want him to live and find a better life. Finally he has a chance to save a girl and get her back to her father. To do so he must do more bad things. I kept thinking that Dan would be a great choice for a new Billy Jack film. Rumor was that a script was in the making a coupe years ago. On the down side: Way too much swearing and tough-guy machismo from some of the other characters. The F bombs just start to become tiresome. Dan E. pulls this film out of the quagmire by his character. Great job Dan. dd Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Audience Member This is perhaps my favorite crime film ever... The story is about a new to town guys troubles with debts drug users and addiction. The most convincing portrait of the saddness and turmoil that this would cause. The scene that really got me was the part where he crashes in his small room of stress and total exaustion. Note the details of his bed on the floor. I've lived and seen rooms like this many times and this is how it looks really not like the hollywood glam crime drug films. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/10/23 Full Review Read all reviews
