Though actor Lawrence Fontaine (Lewis Stone) periodically confesses to homicides that he couldn't have committed, the police chalk it up to an artist's eccentricity. He really has, however, been plotting the murder of the man he thinks killed his ex-wife. Young troupers Nan (Barbara Read) and Tommy (Tom Brown) beg him to reconsider, but he carries out the crime. After the youngsters are all incriminated, Fontaine confesses, but no one will believe him, so he must prove his own guilt.
