Juan Pablo Russo EscribiendoCine The Owners is paradoxically one of the simplest and most complex films that Argentine cinema has recently shown. Simple in its entire conception but complex when it comes to telling a story that it isn't telling a priori. [Full review in Spanish] Rated: 8/10 Mar 5, 2024 Full Review Michael Sicinski Cinema Scope It's difficult to evaluate a film as aggressively unusual as The Owners. Despite its grating quirks and featherweight jabs at social commentary, it cannot be summarily dismissed. This Nov 21, 2017 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member (English / Español) Class struggle in a house in Tucumán I saw the highly praised by critics Los owners, a film from Tucumán and a lucky Argentine antecedent of Parasite, since it deals with how those in charge of a farm in Tucumán occupy the owners' house every time they are absent. First film by Agustín Toscano and Ezequiel Radusky acclaimed by almost all the critics, perhaps it could be classified as a comedy, articulated by the evolution of the character of Rosario Bléfari (very well in her role), a concheta (upper class woman) from Buenos Aires appearing for his sister's wedding. The first half suffers from certain repetitions and a rhythm that does not grow, concentrating on the end a change of tone that I do not know if it is adequate. In short: an interesting idea but uneven in its realization.
