Eryn S Most of the movie is used to set up a paper thin plot. Not sure how ol girl went mega morphin rake time and then grew a human shell. Could spend all day looking at plot holes so to sum it all up this movie was a soup sandwich served with hot dog water. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 10/17/23 Full Review Monsol E So...I thought the Rake was a cryptid, but this says it's another Wendigo? The runtime is mostly taken up by nice lady [I just watched this, already forgot character names] and her jerk husband arguing about lady's mentally unwell sister....towards the VERY END some bodies pile up really fast, but only a few kills are on-screen and only one is good....the very last one where the Rake reveals itself. The few gore effects were admittedly nasty and cool. I don't understand how the Rake works, the 1st chunk of the movie implies it's all in peoples heads...but the ending disagrees....is it some kind of viral parasite? what did it want again?...to pass itself between people? but it was "inside them too" already...so why was there just one of it then? ...IDK man. The good reveal, and bit of gore didn't make up for this being a slog, the monster made no sense, and the husband being uncomfortably mean to someone trying to deal with A LOT of trauma didn't help. It didn't even have a real ending, the Rake just showed itself and then ROLL CREDITS...did the lady die too? The baby? What about the cops? Dunno. Watch it if you're curious, but it ain't good. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/14/23 Full Review Audience Member i rather shoot myself than watch this again Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/21/23 Full Review Audience Member Left a lot of questions unanswered and the acting was sketchy at best. The blurb says they were teenagers but CLEARLY the group were in their late 20’s, and how would teenagers be able to buy a new house and move in in their own??... questions and questions ...and mass confusion on who was who and just what in the world is going on??? Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 11/04/18 Full Review Audience Member If you want to see a movie that is absolutely clueless and confused about what its trying to be, than this is the movie for you! I'm really not sure whether they were trying to go for a campy creature feature horror flick or a psychological thriller. The end result was more of an ugly monster than the rake itself. It's chock full of uninteresting and horribly unlikable characters, an overall lame monster, and a lot of time I won't get back. A completely ruined big screen version of one of the best creatures in creepypasta lore. All in all, don't waste your time unless your hosting a bad movie night.
