Charles Kirkland, Jr. RogerEbert.com The Superdeep is most often a formulaic mess, and a little nonsensical when it's not flat-out uninteresting. Rated: 2/4 Jun 17, 2021 Full Review Meagan Navarro Bloody Disgusting Not even a few fun moments of creature mayhem can distract from this convoluted mess. Rated: 1/5 Jun 15, 2021 Full Review Cath Clarke Guardian Exasperatingly, the missing ingredient is a well-developed storyline; nothing in the muddled script hangs together. Nov 27, 2021 Full Review Witney Seibold Critically Acclaimed Podcast The second Soviet 'Alien' knockoff in recent memory (2020's 'Sputnik' was the other), 'The Superdeep' does far too little with its fun setting. Camilo Y Could be lower, but if you like the genre of Russian sci-fi horror, it’s entertaining and enjoyable. Worth a random watch on a Tuesday night, the kind of movies you don’t watch because it’s “good”, you watch because you like independent films, and out of curiosity. Good especial effects, intriguing, and personally I liked Milena’s role as Anya. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 08/29/24 Full Review Jesus C 2 hours for one good special effects moment and 4 elevator rides Wow Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 07/05/24 Full Review Paul M Not a terrible movie per se, but it's definitely the case of an interesting concept that gets lost somewhere on its way to the finishing line. The VFX and SFX both practical and digital are quality as well as the leading lady (Milena Radulovic), who really sells the role. Problems lie in its pacing, clarity, supporting case and generic sound design. Again, not entirely unwatchable, fans of the genre or films like Annihilation, or The Abyss might find some enjoyment out of this one... 4.3/10 Rated 2 out of 5 stars 05/10/24 Full Review Andrea C In Russia il genere sci fi è probabilmente ancora più ricercato e desiderato che nel resto del mondo, per questo vengono sfornati numerosi film nel genere e la concorrenza è alta. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 12/11/23 Full Review Peter W For those who enjoy films such as Doom, Resident Evil, and horror classics such as The Thing, Superdeep is your kind of film—delivering a fun concept, incredible set designs and horror aspects, which are sometimes unsettling and positive. But sadly, Superdeep has many bland elements, including the central performances and the core plot, which all feel vague and dull, with some exceptions in the third act. Those who are seeking a new horror film should still most certainly check this one out. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 09/18/23 Full Review YuriNoirProductions Super Deep is not any highly meaningful movie. instead it is a tense and visceral horror movie that especially shines with it's audio design. The visuals are not less impressive. It features a good amount of disgust and wants the real horror to unfold in the mind of the viewer. It definitly shows some nasty aspects but the truely horrific ideas in this movie are only hinted at. Whoever like thick atmospheres and slow paced mystery / horror will enjoy this Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Read all reviews
